The updated logo sure looks nice and pretty! I love the dull undertones!
I'm willing to bet this was some CEO or non-designer's idea based on my past experience.

sweet... another international corpo cashing in off the stupidity of millions :)
Gotta love how greed is appearing in the form of doing good for the environment... turning more folks into mindless suckers who's asses will still be huge even though they were thinking of the environment first.
- hasn't mcdonald's always catered to the stupid? this is not news7point34

Is it really "cashing in on the stupidity of millions"
No one is going to go to McDonald's because of this that wouldn't have beforehand. McD's knows this, their agency knows this etc.
- then why do it?... what's the point of 'appearing' like you care than to encourage folks to buy your shit?PonyBoy
- Does McDonald's even need to advertise?DrBombay
- it is. Green is the new buzzword, yeah. But its irresponsible to claim you are doing well in an area where you are one of the worst offenders.baseline_shift

redic.
Consuming red meat is one of—if not the most—ecologically disastrous activities you can engage in. Going to there is by definition not green.
McDonalds will have to pledge to stop clearing brazilian rainforest for cattle grazing land before they can even pretend to be even the slightest bit 'green'.
Corporate spin is one thing. They should be accountable for being downright fraudulent in the face of their consumers.

"Green" doesn't have a true definition. It, in and of itself, doesn't actually mean anything.
- it means something to the 'stupid millions' they are marketing to. This argument is skirting the irresponsibility of it.baseline_shift
- green means slimespraycan
- DrBombay, this is the annual day of you being right on some stuff other than music! (note it's thanksgiving eve)raf

No one is going to start going to McDonalds because of this campaign.
- I wouldnt say that. I tend to think the McD marketing dept knows a thing or two more than you do.baseline_shift
- I think the only advertising that works is when they bring the McRib back :)DrBombay

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find the green appetizing. I thought all these fast food places chose their color schemes because they had a psychlogical effect on people. The green makes me think of...grass

I'll never forget my first meal in Italy: ziti with tomato sauce and garlic bread at the McDonald's across the street from the train station in Florence. Man, it was actually pretty good. I think they had espresso there too.
