Is it considered 'hack" if a designer uses a web template?
- Pupsipu0

depends how much design work was involved...
if it is totally different then no its def not a hack
if it looks the same, can u really say you did much "designing"
- ckentish0
just hope the client doesn't trawl template websites

I think it's OK to use code and functionality but not the design
- sureshot0
yeah otherwise what the fucking point calling yourself a "designer"
- ETM0
Are you honest with the client about it. If they know and don't care, then fine. If you're passing it off as your own design, then yes, you are a hack and dishonest.

you've obviously given up your sources, anything questionable at this point was wholly unavoidable and entirely your fault. next time design it yourself and have it sliced up by a third party or 4th or 2nd, really depends how you look at it i guess. Anyway, retain some ownership and such ya know? have some dignity ffs
