Well i've got the dilema between the two. Which do I go for. Hackintosh would cost a little more but obivously come with much better specs.

get the refurb,
I'll wait another year to get the perfect hackintosh,

Personally, I'd go the Hackintosh route (assuming you know that spec works!) - at least then it can double up as a half decent PC too. I considered getting a mac mini when they first came out, for testing and such, but I could never really justify the cost - cute wee machine, but not much for your moolah.

A helluva lot of LEDs in your spec - how old are you?
One thing Hackintoshs will rarely have is the turtle-necked, brushed aluminium zen of a Cupertino creation.

The LED's weren't intentional, I just went for what ever was cheap and fairly good at what it does.
I'm 20, been designing since I was 14 and building computers since around then too.

Just go with the mini just to avoid any future compatibility problems.

Mac Mini obviously, building computers is for people with too much time on their hands

how many times do I have to tell you people?? QBNers have unanimously voted that PC's are better than mac's!!

Its around 50/50 at the moment tbh Projectile. Think I will go for the mini, is cheaper and that way I can grab myself another monitor with the spare cash!
- get an iMac instead...it comes with a nice display and it's way more powerful than the minimonospaced
- But then it wacks up to £700. Thats almost penis enlargement money!!aanderton
- Fine, spend $500 on a Mac mini, $100 on a mouse and keyboard, and then another $300 on a display. That's £450+monospaced

- I already own the mouse keyboard and display.aanderton
