BMW 1M has appreciated ~$5,000/year since it was released in 2011. It's more expensive to purchase a used one now than if you had bought it brand new 3 years ago.

Mostly because it was just so limited in availability. The M1 where i live was selling for $20-40k above the msrp (im pretty sure the limited run was an attempt to not outshine the M3/ M6)
