- I think Top Gear did a video how a brand new Kia was safer that a 10 year old Volvo.fooler
- Ummm yea a car from 50yrs ago isn't as safe. WOW. Mind blown.Hayzilla
- a modern minivan slammed at low speed into my 1973 mercedes. my metal bumper got dented while the other car's front wheel got ripped out... so yeah, modern carspr2

- Are these out yet?lemmy_k
- It looks exactly like an Jag F Type.
So many do now though.Hayzilla - And in my opinion, that Jaguar was heavily inspired by Aston MartinSteveJobs
- ^ True datHayzilla
- I dig it. Had a 350z pre-kids. It was a blast to drive.aslip
- Looks decent. I had a 300ZX Twin Turbo. I wish they had stuck with the higher end, competing with Corvette's, instead of going cheap.formed
- Nissan's a strange company, makes some shitty ass cars and makes some brilliant cars, they should focus on brilliant._niko
- If the price is right, Im keen to get one.
Missed out on buying a 350z back in the day. So keen to get the new one.Sellies - @formed did you have the quad T? My cousin had a 300zx Twin Turbo T-Top and it was a particularly absurd car.garbage
- Is it out?! Also, Jaguar's designer, Ian Callum, also did work for Aston. So, makes sense.section_014
- Love it. I had a '79 and an '83 280ZX. My first two cars...spoiled me for lifemisterhow
- @formed: This is the perfect price point to target. The vette has tons of competition. M2/M3, tons of AMG, Porsche, Supra (sorta).section_014
- There's jack sit in 30-40k range. Civic Type R? Miata? Veloster? This thing smokes all of them.section_014
- I has a 350zscarabin
- Fun little car!scarabin

- Is that an FRS?trondlandvik
- Scion FRS, Toyota 86 and/or Subaru BRZ were basically all the same cars with different badges.fooler
- The last Supra was fugly, but super perfomance. The current one is just disgraceful.formed
- ^^ Why? No MT? Who cares. I hate driving a stick. The "connection to the car" diatribe is bullshit. Cause it's a BMW? Again, who cares. This sort of attitude...section_014
- ...is why sports cars are on their way out.section_014

I just recently moved up to Oregon. I've managed to convince my wife that we should buy an electric Volvo XC40 Recharge (talking her up from a basic Jeep Renegade to replace her Ford Transit Connect work van). We basically want something that can handle Winter weather through the Mt Hood corridor. But half a bag of red wine in I'm stumbling across (read: actively seeking) some used Defender 90s, and since they're about the same price point I'm questioning my decisions.
One of these is a lot more comfortable and economical than the other. The other a lot more fun, and waaay more capable (if I'm gonna, you know, drive Lolo Pass Road to Lost Lake in the middle of Winter. Which is highly unlikely. But maybe? Because Defender?).
Not sure what I'm asking here, but one of these is looking tastier than the other right now.
- Defenders are technically awesome BUT they're cramped. I had one for 6 months and had to change it. Go anywhere factor 10, comfort 2.Morning_star
- compromise? https://www.outsideo…hans_glib
- That looks like something off of Smashy Road... and I kinda love it. But for $125k I could probably just buy both of these.5timuli
- I would go for the Landy. (Sorry, I don't have an argument. I just prefer old cars.)Longcopylover
- Wait for the Bronco?misterhow
- I don't know if I'd trust an EV for winter mountain passes. I saw a Tesla model3 in the middle of fucking nowhere this winter, abandoned on the side of the roadmonNom
- Range is reduced climbing hills, and cold weather saps range too... but the Land Rovers aren't particularly reliable either, so maybe a toss-up.monNom
- As much as I hate to say it, stick with gas if you are traversing cold mountains.cannonball1978
- Ugly car********
- I have a 90, I love it.slappy
- I would vote for a new Defender except someone might torch it in Portland. I drove Lolo Pass in an '86 Nissan 720 4x4 and it was sketchy AF. Toyota FJ?fooler
