I'd love to see a movie about funny old prostitutes in retirement. Like "Bucket List" or "Grumpy Old Men" but with old hookers telling jokes about pitiful Johns.

Watching The Revenant again. The cinematography is really amazing. Besides it feels like a live action version of Red Dead Redemption 2 lol.

Not really a fan of Adam Sandler at all, but this was great.
- yes veryGuyFawkes
- Their previous film Good Time is also worth checking out. Both have similar storyline, basically watching a character dig themselves deeper and deeper intoyuekit
- a hole via their own bad decisions :)yuekit
- Film of the year!grafician
- on netflix at the end of the month
:-)Bluejam - Great movie. Good Time was too.dopepope
- The 3rd act had my heart pumpin ... the bets, the editing & how it all comes together had me white knuckled.Ramanisky2
- I have also heard good things, but damn, Adam Sandler? Not sure I can manage itGnash
- This was entertaining. At the end, some guy in theatre blurted out "what did I just watch"Hayoth
- ^ I guess he didn’t take to kindly to flying in and out of Adam Sandler’s rectumRamanisky2
- I'll give it a try, but not sure I can take sandler in a serious role.dbloc
- This film gave me the anxieties. The way it dumps you straight in and is then relentless the whole time.thumb_screws

Just watched Hereditary. I know I'm late to the party. I thought it was very good. 1,000 time better than Bird Box and A Quiet Place, two movies lots of people enjoyed and thought they were poop.
I've read Hereditary was really scary and lots of people were scared. I honestly, as an adult, can't be scare by a movie anymore, i dont understand how grown up can be scared by a movie.
The last time I was 'scared' by a movie as an adult-ish was when I watched The Exorcist for the first time, i think i was around 16-17 years old, it was on my minde for a couple days.
And the second time was when I watched Blair Witch Project, the scene were the kids tap and run around the tent. I was 20 years old.
Now I found scary movies, cool, not scary. And I think the old horror movies (pre-90's) are more effective.
- watch his other one Midsommar next, very good.fadein11
- I will watch it next week :)Bennn
- Very hard to watch, I hadn’t watched a horror movie in years and of all the ones I chose to jump back in with lol_niko
- ''of all the ones I chose to jump back in with lol'' Can you reformulate this sentence _niko, i dont understandBennn
- It means that after not having watched a horror movie in many years because they didn’t appeal to me any more I couldn’t stomach them_niko
- Then I saw the buzz for hereditary and thought, sounds pretty good, I’ll start watching horror moves again, how bad could it be? Turns out, Very bad lol_niko
- And by bad I don’t mean not well done, it was, just very difficult to watch, very brutal especially with the sister_niko
- ok! Really? it was that bad for you? I think the actors were very good and the movie was enjoyable/good. For me a very bad movie is something like A Quiet PlaceBennn
- "This generation's Exorcist" as stated on that poster is ridiculous tho. the Exorcist is one of the best movie ever made, period. And The best horror movie everBennn
- You didn't think it was incredibly stupid at the end how it just devolved into a basic no-rules scary nonsense with people crawling on ceilings n' stuff?monospaced
- It was cool until the end when they just went completely off the rails and threw away the hours they built into something great. Just said fuck it, we give up.monospaced
- Yeah a bitBennn
- It’s not really a “twist” if you just CHANGE everything at the end to something else completely.monospaced
- you're right, i still enjoyed itBennn
- I felt like it failed when they had to explain what was happening at the end.lemmy_k
