anyone have a winning formula, other than "don't do it".
6pt - 8pt text on white, gotta be brown.
15-65-100-70
this gonna be messy? any experienced opinions?

if you can eliminate one of the plates, it will help. Try getting rid of the cyan and see if it still looks brown.
70% K in the mix is going to be really dark that small. It might look almost black (at which point you can argue to just make it black so people can actually be able to read it).

yeah i was also thinking maybe a 0-75-100-50 mix... oh... i dunno.

0-40-40-65 probably not dark enough.

if you have to: bold text. nothing thinner than regular.
any decent printer will probably be able to avoid registration issues, but they're also human.

isn't this what pantone is for??

yeah of course a pantone would be ideal, but we all have to work with different printing situations and budgets for all shapes and sizes.
this happens to be cd packaging for a duplication house that only offers cmyk printing, spots are not an option.
