Because C++ is a proprietary Apple product.

Someone make a version saying:
"We love ripping off designers and developers because we can, especially having devoured our only competition, Macromedia"
- < Makes no sense whatsoever. They bought Macromedia for 3.4 BILLION. That's billion with a B.fyoucher1
- I'm sure the folks at Macromedia weren't unhappy.fyoucher1
- Flash has NEVER had competition, except Silverlight, which isnt what you'd call competitiontwokids
- and...Live Motion by Adobe.fyoucher1
- yes, Silverlight succeeds where flash fails. no competition.zarkonite
- what is silverlight again?Miguex
- LOL Live Motion ... I'd totally forgotten about that.Continuity
- Wow, are you serious? Silverlight is a failure? Hahaha. K, go read.dMullins
- I have silverlights under my sink. So creepy those things.CockDiesel

Well the thing is - I think Apple's plan is to replace Flash with their own tool, whatever it's called. They know how powerful Flash is, and they would love to control the creating of all those iAds with their own tool. They want those 3 million developers working for them, essentially.
Thing is, if Adobe hadn't screwed up and produced a good version of flash to run on smartphones, they wouldn't have this opening.
But now they are running with it. And causing havoc.

Honestly, the Flash for smartphones banter is right up there with talk of the 2nd coming of Christ. I'm sure once it arrives, it'll be a motha'fucka'... but I'm starting to wonder if any of us will be around to see it. Damn, Adobe - pull the trigger already!

any leaks of the new Apple Flash?

Adobe is free to keep developing Flash, providing support for developers and it's community. Nobody is forcing them to stop what they're doing. Do they really need to put out something like this? I'm not sure that all the nerds and developers and designers out there really believe that Adobe hates Apple or vice-versa.

its adobe propaganda. sounds sort of cynical and desperate.

I feel mobility is what people are flocking towards because they are concerned less about the experience and more about the exchange and consumption of content; Steve Jobs gets this and sees the herd moving and is thus creating the best experience he knows how to for that audience; cutting any bricks that are drowning him, his technology (software and hardware) and not looking back...
In a world changing as rapidly as ours, looking back slows you down and slowing down counters momentum; and if their is one thing Apple has in excess currently it is momentum...

I agree with what Adobe are saying:
http://www.adobe.com/choice/open…
"We believe that consumers should be able to freely access their favorite content and applications, regardless of what computer they have, what browser they like, or what device suits their needs. No company — no matter how big or how creative — should dictate what you can create, how you create it, or what you can experience on the web.
When markets are open, anyone with a great idea has a chance to drive innovation and find new customers. Adobe's business philosophy is based on a premise that, in an open market, the best products will win in the end — and the best way to compete is to create the best technology and innovate faster than your competitors.
[ ... ]We believe that Apple, by taking the opposite approach, has taken a step that could undermine this next chapter of the web — the chapter in which mobile devices outnumber computers, any individual can be a publisher, and content is accessed anywhere and at any time."
- This argument would be great if Flash were an open technology. It is not.nb
- Yeah, I know - it does sounds a little off .. but you can use open source tools to work with Flash.lukus_W
- Apple are trying to artificially control markets though .. which is bad.lukus_W
- Adobe is also trying to control markets. It's what companies do.nb
- in related news the sun is really hot, more news at 11ernexbcn
- No you're wrong nb - there's a difference between letting the market decide and outlawing competition.lukus_W
