So, I can see many positives to DNG but are there any negatives other than conversion time?

DNG is a little more future proof, easier to exchange with people (higher amounts of support), possibly smaller file sizes (not sure on that one) and adjustments are embedded rather than in an additional file.

Embedded adjustments are nice indeed, xmp and others can be a pain if you move your archive often. But I don't really see software developers like Phase One dropping support for native RAW. They tend to extend list of cameras usable with their program.
