OK, this should be caveman simple, but apparently it isn't.
I'm trying to style a:active to a certain colour when a user clicks on a link. If you're on the page you just clicked the link for, that link should stay white.
It's not working, though. What gives?

methinks you need to understand how the <a> tag works a little bit.

:active occurs when you keep mouse button down; if you want to keep the state add class, i.e. class="active"

if you want the link change to indicate where the user is, you want to override hover----cause yer there. I like a class in the <body> and an id on the <a> so the code responds to where the user is....
