I've bought a used macbook pro to a close friend of mine. It runs OSX 10.5.8
It's been recently formated and set up with the whole apps / plugins / fonts / etc etc and it is running perfectly, BUT, the home folder has my friends name. I've been looking in lots of forums for a safe an easy way to change it, but I could not find the right answer.I'd really appreciate if someone could help me out, either explaining, or reccomending the right place to find an answer.
Thanks.

There's no way to rename it without reinstalling OSX.

Create a new user. Delete that user. Done.
- You can't delete the administrator-level user though, can you?dMullins
- if you're an admin, i think you can delete other admins.bulletfactory

I've done it before.
I think you do have to create a new user with admin properties.

^ move all info you want to save to the shared folder or your folder, delete old.
