Just came across these, pretty good stuff in terms of interaction / rich app feel.

wow, just like flash in 1999.
- SteveJobs0
^ i think he means back in 1999, it was all about the 'experiments' or 'labs'. i remember those days and it looks like they're back.
though, i'd like to see more concrete examples of real-world/commercial usage - like ads, charts (i've seen a few of these) or interactive infographics, RIA interfaces, menu's, hardware acceleration features (that's in there, right?), full gaming experiences, etc, etc..

and not the quake port, pls

I think the "BLOB example" sums up the entire HTML5 experience to date!

future of flash -> WYSIWYG HTML 5 editor

its the twitter whale all over again

would like to see this stuff implemented in a real world site, would feel a little less experimental when meshed with an actual UI / UX purpose.

future of flash = flash
future of dreamweaver = WYSIWYG HTML 5 editor

regarding this link:
Clients will want Flash level proficiency in their projects to be developed for the Ipad and it's going to take more time and money. They won't understand why it's harder and they will lose patience. Some people will master HTML5 quickly and be successful, but even those people are going to eventually have to say, "for it to look/work that well, it would have to be Flash".I'm sorry but those experiments DO look like Flash, 1999.
And for all of Steve Jobs' lies about Flash, let's test CPU usage on those experiments vs. comparable Flash 5 experiments from a decade ago.

future of future = past

Here's my future prediction. Those who whine will keep whining and complaining. Those who are interested in the stuff, will keep working on it. Then one day, JS or HTML5-based media will hit a point where it is unquestionably as good or better than Flash. At which point everyone who complained will start using it, while being all like, "I was in favor of this shit all along."
;D

funny =)

Well, what are people's thoughts on using the Flash editor/UI versus a WYSIWYG editor? Never mind that most of these experiments are basic, I think the real wonder is that you don't have to understand the intricacies and the nuances of a UI that is one of the most god awful in existence (flash's).

SteveJobs - I thought the same thing. I fondly remember getting into numerous arguments with kids as a moderator on Flashkit back in 2000 as I tried to convince them, that, no, doing a bunch of irrelevant flash crap was not going to land them a $100K job at an interactive agency, or the title of Creative Director, or any of the dreams they so 100% thought they would achieve by being 18 and having copied Praystation's source files only to change one tiny variable and call it their own.

This guy's stuff alone is a pretty random choice by which to judge all the work that's being done out there. I'd suggest taking a look at http://www.chromeexperiments.com… for the experimental stuff.
As far as blogs go, http://www.ajaxian.com has the best overall coverage of all things JS and HTML5 related.
- ukit0
hahaha, speaking of ajaxian, how's this for progress?
