I agree, too many useless fucks out there. But that's part of what Google is supposed to do, filter out the imitators. If you have duplicate content to another site, they generally penalize you. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, as soon as rules are made people learn to game the system...

The bloggers past away long ago.
They're now another form of paid advertising. nothing original, no original thought or honest opinions. Just advertising.

I guess the biggest problem is that people are stupid...look at "Web Designer Depot." THat place has the largest audience of any "design site" and it's just a bunch of Top 50 lists.

Sometimes, when I think about what the world has become, I really feel despair.
Commercialism can make desperate money-driven whores out of the best of us. Most of this re-blogging isn't driven by passion - it's driven by a lazy, uninspired greed. I wish it would disappear.

lots of unemployed people becoming 'bloggers' and 'freelancers' I suppose.

I would rather read a top 50 list than a post with 50 cunts whining about something on the internet that they aren't being forced to read.

Not a blog about design, but this guy documents all the money he makes from blogging...

you should do a roundup of the roundups. actually, can you just read all those things and summarize it all into a 10 word sentence?
- it might sound really banal, like focus, do shit, call clients, win awards, bill clients...vaxorcist

Reminds me of art school,I was bored when taking postmodern art history, so I wrote a PERL script to automatically write really bad, buzzword-filled postmodern art history essays.... and I passed(!)
I could rewrite this PERL code to write these SEO-spam blog articles, but obviously somebody's already done it, the problem is it looks like english wasn't their first language...

please post a paragraph of one of these essays.

The concept of "thought leadership" is a land grab that everyone wants to rush on, and to do that one must be the "most provocative and loudest".
I say STFU and do some work.
- It used to be that "thought leader" essays were eye-candy to some clients, not anymore...vaxorcist

The below is one run-on sentance from my automatic bad postmodern art history essay generator....... most were even worse(!)
The movement's mutliple and post-dialectical tendencies towards neo-disestablishmentarianism are somewhat indicative of an ultimately unsatisfiable desire compounded by a derridian-derived simalcrum that is simultanously complex and multifaceted, as well as transcendent of a Foucaultian worldview.
