Hi guys, i am using this on a site but am having problems in safari and iphone safari... it seems to load the title but sometimes (maybe 30 - 40%) of the time it doesn't load the tweets... is anyone else having this problem? and if so is there away around it?

Hi Stugoo, it only happens sometimes and when it does i get an error on my iphone...
Javascript error on line 1
http://twitter.com/st...nt=4&… ReferenceError:Can't find variable: twitterCallback2I'm using safari version 5 on my mac and whatever version of safari comes with the 4g iphone... Sometimes it doesnt load but if i hit refresh it does... very odd.
Also it seems to happen most in the site i am working on, but does occasionly happen with the link above too.

the problem is that it's loading two scripts from twitter, one has the code that interprets the response, the other is the response data itself. it's probably getting the tweet data back before the script that interprets it loads, so it's not seeing the twitterCallback2 function that processes the response and throwing an error. one solution may be to remove the getscript call to the page with the twitterCallback2 function: http://twitter.com/javascripts/b… and just copy the functions straight into your own script. this may violate some twitter license though, if you care about that.

Hey acescence, thanks for looking into that. To be honest I don't really understand what I am to do... but it does sound cool. I will give it a try.

Do you mean to simple replace only this line:
$.getScript("http://twitter.com...
with all of this?
http://twitter.com/javascripts/b…
Cheers

I find the twitter js to be very hit or miss. It seems a bit buggy to me. I have better luck using Arc90's PHP wrapper class for the Twitter API, http://lab.arc90.com/2008/06/03/…

Hi acescence, tried that but it stopped working altogether... any idea what needs to replace what? cheers

If you can't get the above script to work I wrote this jQuery plug in a while back...you can just use it for Twitter and leave out the other social networks.
