I know tons of apps exist as well as many other ways of getting this (browser cache, firebug, etc), but i'm looking for 'the best' one out there.
basically what i want is an app/add-on that displays every image loaded on a web page and it's name either as the page is loading or on completion. what's important is that i can easily scroll through them and see them. maybe sort by name, size, dimensions?
any suggestions?

web developer toolbar plugin for firefox is what i use for this - one of the tabs is "images" and the menu item is "view image information"

oops. spoke too soon. it's not a comprehensive list. maybe it ignores css background-image?
still that's pretty close to what i'm after

maybe the simplest thing is to just use wget or curl to recursively download everything and put it in a local folder, then you can use finder or whatever to sort them.
