When I was in Paris and Milan, I stayed mostly with friends but when I did get a hotel, this one was really in a great location in Paris: Timhotel Jardin des Plantes 5 rue Linné, 05. Panthéon- Notre Dame, 75005 Paris (It's only a two star, surprisingly... I just slept there, service was good and the location is excellent, not touristy and SUPER close to the Metro.)
- I'll be staying in hostels mate. This is a very budget trip.aanderton

I wanted places to visit within these cities to be honest. But I'm popping round my mates house later so I'll see what he thinks.

drop Milan in favour of Barcelona.

You are missing all the Nordic countries. Good time of the year to stroll around there. Also Amsterdam, and maybe Barcelona.
... and of course, Slough.

This was a bit of a last minute decision but me and a friend have decided to spend 2 and a half weeks travelling around Europe this summer (inter-railing).
Below is a list of places we're intending to visit. But when it comes to good things to visit whilst there we only know the main attractions. So any recommendations on other things to do whilst there (he's not a designer but some design related stuff would still be good).
Paris
Milan
Berlin
Rome
Venice
Athens
(Not necessarily in order).Cheers folks.
