I'm filling out a form that asks for my work history.
its asking about supervisors and their contact numbers...
do you guys always fill this out. I don't want to give cell numbers really, doesn't seem too necessary.
can I leave it blank, is that weird?

leave it blank, if it is thru an agent they are really just fishing for your contacts.. until you get paid by them "dont feed the sharks"

Just say "will provide upon request"
- You expect a potential employer to ask for something they asked for up front?shellie
- Sure, why not, employers love it when you play "hard to get"ukit
- I hate when people waste my time and create more work for me. If it didn't matter they wouldn't ask.shellie
- Yeah, fair enough, but I think it's preferable to not putting anythingukit
- Agreed. But it's also an easy way to see if a portfolios are bullshit from jump street. (can't back it up)shellie

don't put mobiles, put office numbers... probably not best to leave blank, unless you want to look like you've got something to hide...
- should not be a cell unless its someone who doesnt work in an office, or ur reference is ur mom.shellie

yes. if you do not have a relationship with the people who are interviewing you (in which case they will do their own detective work and form their opinions that way) they are going to want to call some people.
I would never hire someone without calling their references if they weren't referred by a very very very trusted source, and even then I'll have to do a little cross referencing of some sort.
In short, it's totally weird if they ask you to and you don't -- especially if you actually want the job.
- and you always ask people before you put down your references.shellie

"will provide upon request" is a good idea.
anyone agree?
- noted above: You expect a potential employer to ask for something they asked for up front?shellie

- i guess there was already a request.freshdude
- exactly. if you want the job, don't be a diva. play ball. call your references and tell them.shellie
- another example of why its best to keep good relationships w/those who need to talk about youshellie

If it's on the form, that means they want it.
Put the information in and be honest.

VERY IMPORTANT
1. Be sure that you are in good standing with the people whom you are giving their phone numbers on the application.
2. Notify your former employers, supervisors, etc... that they might be getting a phone call in reference to a potential job offering.Good luck:)
