My interactions with Twitter are pretty much limited to what friends and business contacts post in their status updates on both Facebook and LinkedIn. Nine times out of 10, I'll ignore what's being posted, cos it's usually asinine and trite (largely having to do with how big a dump they took, or the fact they're playing with the new iPhone 4 on a commuter train, etc).
That said, I don't have a Twitter account. At all. Nor will I ever have one, either. I simply have nothing of any broader value to say to the Webz, and I think if you're thinking of setting your self up with it, you need to define how you're going to use it and - from that point - figure out how you're going to market it.
Because, let's face it, like anything else, simply tweeting isn't enough, you have to market the fact that you do.

A. Yes, we also get wind of pitches too.
B. Absolutely, amazing how much competitors give away.
C. Everyday.
D. Comes in fits and starts, but once every couple of days is the norm.

yes to all

I don't tweet, but I use it to read stuff, updates and shit.
It's a good tool to find stuff, stay informed. You don't have to say anything, you can just listen.

All of this having been said (and sorry to veer off-topic), can anyone recommend any Twitters that are geared for job-hunting, especially from a European persective? Recruiters and job sites, though, not necessarily agency twitters (that would be a ginormous list).

I thought it was stupid until l actually had a proper look at the thing. I'm new to it but there are myriad uses for twitter and for me it's a great resource as a designer. I really don't care about what people are doing or where they are eating but for design and new media related news it's great. A studio I work with got a huge job through twitter.
