Thought there was maybe a thread but can't find.
Looking for examples of black and white surreal photography. Old or contemporary, but not polished photoshop cheese.
Phillipe Halsman (who shot the famous Dali portrait) is all I can think of. Man Ray is another but his style isn't really what I'm after.

They work in film, but are amazing artists and fit the bill of surreal.

This book is pretty good, only one or two photos per photographer but is a good overview
