^ is it hollow? did you have to smelt all that glass?

It's completely solid, I built the frame by hand then used the command line to fill in the rest since I play on a server :)
The centre bar is 200 blocks wide, I had to do a fair bit of the vertical parts too by hand however as I wanted it to fit into the landscape without replacing everything blindly. At the bottom of the vertical pillars I've dug out big rooms under the water line which have glass so it's like a big aquarium. I'm going to use water elevators from these rooms to get up into the structure itself, and will probably have a large hollow structure hanging in the very centre above the water.

Been working on this. its NASA's Saturn V Rocket with launch tower and mobile platform. includes a stairway inside the rocket, fuel tanks, NASA logo with typeface and the American Flag. The launch Tower has a ladder for platform arm access, also has an emergency escape exit (120 meter drop into 3 meter water damping pool). watch out for the retro rockets, they are "live".
Rocket is VERY flammable. its made out of wool. im still working on a launch switch which will activate the retro rockets. redstone lights & wiring and a small minecart system that connects to the home above.
the next major project will be the
Lunar Lander with moonscape & custom player skin (so you'll look like an astronaut!)im a big NASA fan dork.

I fail to see the appeal of such a game.
- It's a sandbox game, so it's only for creative people.i_monk

Haven't played in a long time now, but reading this article just now reminds me of why I was rapt with the concept.

Sadly, in its current form I don't see enough of a point to continue playing, as a game. I can't wait to see where things go in future though.

It's become pretty fucking boring, haven't played since the wool update. There are only so many empty shell pointless buildings you can make.
Needs to take more hints from Dwarf Fortress
- Aye, a friend and I set up a private server.. got excited.. then realised we couldn't fight each other. What's the point?detritus

I haven't played it and probably won't in its current state. What I'd like to see is a higher resolution of the geometric foundation of the game – break those blocks into smaller shapes, allowing finer detail, curves, and fragmentation – and a huge common world with variable levels of permanence, so you can build your fortress, work with others to build cities, and they're going to stay in place short of all-out war, with fully destructible hinterlands between these designated areas. Also, graphically, this game screams I Should Be Cell-Shaded to me.

I am still on the search of a cool multiplayer server... :)
But yeah, I got a bit bored of the single player mode...

I know Notch isn't a big company, but from what I've heard he's made kajillions and invested virtually nothing back into the game to improve its much-talked-about shoddy coding and memory problems. What I proposed above are mostly superficial and game play/play mode changes.

It's coming to xbox, that's gonna be sweet, I would hope to see a raft of improvements, could be amazing
- xbox should be getting the 1.8 "adventure/survival... modes.glitchsbrew

^ Pretentious twaddle. Games, and computer files, do not work like that. He certainly nailed the theme better than the rest, but religion is not a one-to-one-to-one-to-one chain, it's more of a tell-two-friends pyramid scheme.
