Is this a race to upgrade within 24 hours from release?
- ernexbcn0
Finally posting from it, it's an evolution of Snow Leopard. I don't understand the nerd rage, the iOS like springboard you can't simply don't use it (I don't like it), the inverted scrolling can be turned off, etc.
I'd like to add that Boz is smoking crack when he says Windows 8 is beautiful and that Windows 7 is superior to Snow Leopard. His necessity of expressing such views on a OS X thread says much of his persona.
- where I say you can't simply not use it I mean you CAN simply not use it.ernexbcn
- well we get it.. YOU cannot not use it because you are completely infatuated with Apple.. they can release absolute turd and you'd pay $1000 for it.Boz
- turd and you'd pay $1000 for it.Boz
- and what a Shocker you find it amazing. I totally didn't see that coming.Boz
- He never said it was amazing Boz. Also, it was $30 not $1000. Living in the UK I'm not 100% on the difference there. But I think it's a lot.aanderton

They added the Full Screen Apps???? Are you !@#$ing kidding me?
The ability to maximise your app to engage the full screen.
Apple treat us all like idiots! Seriously!- Full screen on your main display, but then cancels out /covers up your 2nd monitor.oddslob
- Fucking knobsoddslob
- exactly..they are turning an use you can use for work into retarded and oversimplified iOS. How is having a single screen and a single app better experience is beyond me, but you really have to be brainwashed to see it as a benefit.Boz
- and a single app at a time better experience is beyond me, but you really have to be brainwashed to see it as a benefit.Boz

- It simplifies things down for novice users. Just like Launchpad. It's not like you're forced to use it.Nathan_Adams

I'm pretty happy - i was able to disable anything that was new and bothered me, and the rest feels more polished overall. The only thing I hate is the new scroll bars.
- emulating the ipad-kappa-
- yeah, and outside of power users like me and most people on this board I get it – it;s smart business for them to continue appealing to Trojan horse experiences.NONEIS

- Who uses scroll bars anyway? My mouse has a scroll nipple!Ianbolton

Is anyone getting used to the "Natural" trackpad scrolling?
Has anyone disabled it?I understand the concept. It's like touch screens or using the hand tool in adobe. But at the same time it's like having to put thought into how to breathe again.
- disabledAtkinson
- Enjoying when web browsing, but keep accidentally scrolling the wrong way at a start of a scrollanimatedgif

^ I disabled it. I wouldn't mind getting used to it but there's no way I'm installing Lion on my work computer for now and switching between the two would be impossible to get used to.

My overwhelming impression is that Lion is Apple's Vista - loads of things that people actually will not use because they are either not needed or useful.
- way to fucking exaggerateanimatedgif
- No where near the disaster that was Vista, haha.set
- VISTA= Virus Infections Spyware Trojans & Adware... I don't think OS-X is likely that bad.. yet...vaxorcist

@-kappa- fullscreen apps only make sense using a trackpad to move between them easily, otherwise I don't see the point, unless of course there's a keyboard shortcut to move between apps and desktops, but I haven't tried that yet.

Anyone else appalled by the new spaces and all windows combined thingy?
Is it just me or is that utterly shit and unintuitive?
- That's the main thing that I think looks gash about Lion, I liked the old method fine...rascuache
- spaces sucked before anywayanimatedgif
- spaces was perfectset
- It does work a lot easier though. On a laptop with trackpad. But multi-screen is a fuck upIanbolton
- it's great until you have about 10 safari windows open, then it goes to shit, old one didn'tset
- am i missing something, open up 10 browser windows... how can you scroll through them?
set - Why don't you just have them tabbed? Seems a lot less hassle.Ianbolton
- well durr, sometimes at work though i have up to ten windows open with relevant tabs. Can't tab everything.set

I don't have it and probably won't install for a few months—until I get a new mac, but I already like it for this single feature:
To answer those who are going to say Windows had it since always—I know and I don't give a shit, I don't use Windows. OSX missed this very basic feature and now it has it.
- hold down option and resize and it will scale the other side as well. Like in Photoshop/Illustrato...animatedgif
- I hadn't noticed that, nice.set
- seriously... its about fucking time. I hated this about my mac.sherm

So whats the official word on OSX Lion and how CS5/CS4 runs on it? Thats the only thing that is keeping me from upgrading. I think there was a link flying around on a few bugs with CS5. Will it be addressed soon? What about CS4?
- I pasted a link from Adobe 1 or 2 pages before.ernexbcn

I've had it installed for a week now. It's decent.
I really like how Spaces is now set up as part of Expose, making each full-screen application have its own individual space allowing gestures to flick through them. Kind of thinking this is good for a laptop with a trackpad, but without it I guess I'm gonna have to shellout for a trackpad. Can't see it Apple.
Generally it seems easy enough, but it has taken me a week to get used to that scrolling reversal thing. Now, what the fuck is happening with iTunes. Maybe we could make it a little slower and maybe even add some more crashes here and there if you're library has a movie and a few songs in. If you want to keep the hardware happy sort out the integration with the software. The iPhone will eventually get destroyed by Android if you don't.

oh yeah, and Mail has crashed on me 3 times this week, although my draft messages always seem to save okay.
