I couldnt be happier though for Dirk after losing the Finals in 06. All those years spent running up and down the court, taking shots, getting knocked down, the ups and downs and being a class act the entire time for this one moment. It must feel great. If anyone deserved it, it was definitely him.

From my high school basketball coach: "hard work always beats talent when talent does not work hard". We went 33-2 that year. The Heat were embarrassing to watch last night, especially in the last 2-3 minutes; tentative, sloppy, almost amateurish looking and then they simply gave up, threw in the towel, etc.
Well done Mav's - enjoy the feeling and have a great summer!
- The last 3 mins was sad. They gave up. Started shooting wild 3's, when they should have been driving paint.********
- james looked like he didn't want the ball.johnny_wobble
- yeah those 3's were not well thought. Desperation...k_temp
- @DM - I kept waiting for them to drive to the basket... for virtually the entire series...********

go figure...don't see how so many selfish moves (lebron taking his talents to south beach, bosh following) could end so badly.
/sarcasm
this is a team sport, after all.
go mavs!

dallas were amazing through this season's playoff run. they had so many come-from-behind wins. they swept the lakers (my team boohoo). props to them, they played well as a team. and when their main guy had a hard time scoring, his teammates picked up the slack.
it's nice to see dirk finally getting one after the shit he had to put up for losing the '06 finals and getting beat by golden state in the first round. and jason kidd finally got his ring also.

I was hoping for a game seven, but i'm not so disappointed since I didn't have my heart set on any of the two teams.

"Cleveland got a collective "ha-ha" at LeBron James' expense after the hometown hero failed in the Finals."

Really looking forward to the trade season now! Hopefully my Nuggets and Sixers can get their acts together! I think the Thunder have a better chance next year as well.
Lakers and Magic, we'll have to see...

Wonder who's gonna be the first Heat player to be sold/xfered
- I think Spoelstra might be cut, who knows.kgvs72
- i doubt they'll change their lineup much. this one got them 2 wins away from a title....CanHasQBN
- the experience alone from this Finals is enough to prep them for next year's Finals. They will have hopefully matured.CanHasQBN
- @CanHas... indeed - maturation will serve them well...********
- don't think so... Spoelstra is Riley's 'extension' and don't think they would fire him..OSFA
- Spoelstra isn't going anywhere for at least 3 more years.********

Miami threw the game to let Dallas take the championship. They are pretty much going to win it probably 3 times in the next 5 so this is a good way to set the stage by losing. NBA is rigged.

DAAAAAALLLLLLAAAASSSSS!
- ********0
Rigged? If it was rigged it would have went into Game 7 with the same result so that the networks and the NBA could cash in for the ad dollars.
- ********0
well I personally thought it would be pushed to game 7 but it doesn't make much a difference. They wanted Miami to blow it and they did. The story is about Dallas getting their bit of the spot light before the superstars take over. Plus everyone is laughing at Lebron choking so it works just as good. Its not really about the marketing dollars its about the image and stories that lead into next season.
- The image and story leads to way more money than one more game.********
- i highly doubt there was any rigging in this year's finals.CanHasQBN
- k... i think otherwise. end discussion.********
- So they told lebron to play like that or the mafia will break his knees... hahaha please!numero1
- yah seriously. baseball on the other hand......********

Nice... yeah, we lost, but I really don't give a shit because I'm still rich and will continue to do whatever I want.

“All the people that was rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today,” James said. “They have the same personal problems they had today. I’m going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do with me and my family and be happy with that."
- Welp, any comparisons to Jordan can be thrown out now. He's weak mentally when the pressure is on and is a total prick.CanHasQBN
- prick.CanHasQBN
- yes, definitely not ready yet to be a Champion. I hope people start referring to the Heat as Lebron's team...OSFA
- it is clear Wade is the true leader in that team and the best player all-around.OSFA

They were just talking about what he said on ESPN. Although he was right about what he said, and might end up regretting saying it, it wasn't aimed at all the little people in the world that are beneath him. It was aimed at the people rooting for him to fail.
What would you say to someone that said they want you to fail at something? "I'll keep trying. You go live your life, I'll live mine".
With such a bright spotlight on him, he probably shouldn't have said that, but in the end he's right about it. He'll try again next year, and everyone has to go live their own lives now.
