I am looking for a font close to Letter Gothic but a bit nicer / refined.... so industrial in feel but with a bit of elegance.
Any ideas?

I was thinking Knockout from Hoefler would be a good choice, but Im not sure what you're using this for - text, headlines, both?
Could heck out Fontbureau, too http://www.fontbureau.com/
They have some nice industrial looking fonts, like Benton Sans, Griffith, Heroun, Scout

I have been trying to use the "alternative characters" for ITC Avant Garde Gothic, particularly the integrated "TH" and "AV" letter lockup approach...like the sample image below. I can NOT get any of the alternative fonts to appear or work in Photoshop or Illustrator regardless of the: glyph selection, character maps, Font Book repertoire option, etc. Does anyone know how to use and active the "slanted alt fonts" for Avant Garde Gothic?
