Illustrator: Flatten a transpency

don't feel bad man, illustrator is HUGE there are so many ways to get to the same result, is not even funny.
sometimes we don't see the easiest things, but a quick question here and someone will know how to do it :)

Maybe here's an easier to understand example.
Take red square (100%) with a white circle in the middle set at 37%.
I want that now pink circle to no longer be a transparent white but to be 100% at that same color it was.

Transparencies in illustrator is asking for trouble.
You are not talking about grouping or combining correct?

I have a fairly basic shape made of transparent colors on top of each other. Is there a way I can flatten all the shapes and make them so they aren't transparent, automatically?
I Guess maybe if I made a PDF and flattened, then reopened it might do it... but there's gotta be a way in Illustrator (CS3)...
