Hi all
I am working on the interface design of an iPad app and have some basic questions. I did some research and think I have a good start but need some clarification. Any help would be greatly appreciated. See questions below:
1) Screen size: I believe it's 1024x768 and vice-versa for portrait, just need someone to confirm.
2) Type and size: What's the smallest typesize I should use? 14pt? Can I embed typefaces within the app or should I stick to the basic faces. I read something about how you can use any .ttf but I want to clarify.
3) Icon size: 72x72?
Thanks again for anyones help!

I think there's information buried on Apple's Developer site regarding this. Not sure what the specs are for iPad though.
You could just use the Teehan+Lax iPad GUI doc as a guide though:

Yup, 1024 x 768. If you want to allow smooth scrolling, you can specify a custom page size (such as 1024 x 3000).
Application icons: 29x29, 50x50, 72x72.
I wouldn't go any smaller than 12pt

dont forget the 20px bar at the top with the time wifi and battery power. You can remove these from your app, but some feel it can be frustrating for a user to have to check time by closing out of app and going back to main page.

Icon question: Do I need to make the icon with rounded edges? Is this a dumb question haha
