Sagan's new Specialized Venge for the 2018 TDF:
I thought it was funny that Cycling Weekly commented on the "We'll See" printed on the underside of the bottom bracket as thought they don't know what it means: "The slightly esoteric sprinter also the words ‘we’ll see’ printed on the underside of the bottom bracket. It’s an interesting addition even if we don’t really know what it means."
https://imagesvc.timeincuk.net/v…
I believe Sagan says "We'll see" pretty often in interviews about the TDF meaning "we'll see what happens tomorrow," or "we'll see what happens next." or "we'll see [if I can stay in the points lead]" etc. etc.

- Do you live in the mountains?Calderone2000

- time for new shorts. older alum bmc?MrAbominable
- shorts are old but still my most comfy ones, no need to replace as long as they work :-) Pic was taken saturdaymekk
- i only mention it because the material looks loose at the knee, like you've downed a size. which is usually a good problem. :)MrAbominable
- ah :-) No, I like my stuff a little loose, see my shirt. All this over tight gear is not good for a skinny guy with no muscle :Pmekk
- true, the Schleck era is over. Was this a race-race or a ride? the backpack is confusing me.MrAbominable
- no race, just a fun ride. Backpack was for my cameramekk

Keeping my eye on these eBMX's
https://www.lifeelectricvehicles…They Kickstartered back in 2016 but havent delivered yet. Rumour is over the next couple of months they will deliver to buyers.
Been in touch with them and they've got a re-seller lined up in Austria for customers on my side of the world.
Gonna see what the price is and might grab one.The lovely thing about it is that it doesnt look like an eBike. Looks like a pretty standard BMX. All black too so gagging for some lovely stickering! :)
- Do you even shred bro? ;-)
I wouldn't get a BMX strictly for commuting which is the only valuable reason I see for making it electric.******** - Commuting in a BMX is fun only if you're already riding BMX. Making it electric would just weigh you down and take out the fun.********
- If want something compact a 20" folding bike would seem like a better option.
Or get the Austin Augie (model from video) Fit Complete for half the price.******** - Oh, I'd use an eBMX to commute! I have two BMX's Mk1 and Mk2 Team Raleigh Burners been mine since the early 80s.microkorg
- I love cruising on the BMX but going anywhere in Edinburgh on a BMX is a fucking nightmare cos it's so hilly.microkorg
- So electric would make it a lot more fun. Plus a buzz to blast effortlessly past lycra-clad racers. ;)microkorg
- Reason I like cruising and exploring on a BMX is that you can get away with going on pavements etc on a BMX at cruise speed on layback seat ;)microkorg
- If you're riding 80s bikes then the e-bike could be an improvement. Different strokes for different folks. Shred on!********

- nice, but what's the story behind that rear frame design?shapesalad
- The chainstay?
Shorter chainstay with more clearance.deadsperm - such a cool bike. Where do you buy this?Calderone2000
- @calderone: https://alliedcyclew…OBBTKN
- $5,299.00Krassy
- I don't get these gravel bikes. Drop bars and aggressive geometry make sense on the road because I'm going fast.section_014
- On bumpy ass off-road trails (with possible jumps), I want flat bars and shocks.section_014
- Everything is going the way of the long tail. There is a market for this, you should see all the subgenres of MTB there are right now.deadsperm
- cyclocross / gravel bikes go fast tooimbecile
- https://www.youtube.…deadsperm
- No chainslap?Mattjanz3n
- Also wider tire clearance. This bike just won Dirty Kanza. I think in two categories. I don't like the look of it but i like Allied.MrAbominable
- I never understood the drop bars, either. They are the worst for control, imho.formed
- @formed
They are not for better control but efficiency. Getting lower makes you more aerodynamic so you save energy.deadsperm - ^save energy AND increased speed. plus, addl hand positions to reduce fatigue.MrAbominable
- Chainstay lets you change the chain without opening it. Good for carbon drive.lnu

Strava Stories
"This year, there are over 90 riders starting the Tour de France who regularly upload to Strava – that’s nearly 50% of the field. From sprinters, to climbers to GC contenders, there are some pretty big names who will be giving you a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the biggest race in cycling."
- Anyone ever do the Strava challenges where you ride or run as far as an event? I’ve done it a couple times, nice motivation.imbecile
- I do the running ones - 5k, 10k ..etc ...there's some fucking fast people out there!Bluejam
- Nice! I have to ride. My knees usually hurt just watching people run.imbecile
- STRAVA is excellent motivation IF you don't get too caught up into the "global competition" element.ideaist

Anyone riding on ZWIFT?
They've recently released ZWIFT CYCLING ACADEMY:
"Get stronger together with Zwift Academy 2019. Our world-class 8-week training program brings out the best in everybody. And it's your chance to win a pro cycling contract."
Kind of neat / thoughts!?
- +imbecile
- I rode Zwift over the winter. Kept me in great condition during those long MN winter months.skwiotsmith
- The CANYON//SRAM women's team has a few folks from the Zwift pro challenge that have made it through to the pros. Totally legit...skwiotsmith
- That said, while I'm not looking forward to training indoors, at least there's Zwift...even if it means 4am riding times...skwiotsmith

Frame is new-to-me, but recently had this built up. 2015 Foundry Harrow with Whiskey No.7, DT Swiss ER1600 23 wheel setup (running 700x32 tires), and a SRAM Rival 22 drive train. Other things throughout, but those are the basic highlights.
Not pictured are the Shimano Ultegra SPD-SL pedals, but I can't commit to them just yet. Could easily go back to SPD. I'm not racing cross, but just looking for something fast that can handle a number of different terrains...
- How much?OBBTKN
- The frame +fork/headset/handle bars/bb) was $500, and about another 1800 from there. Some parts were gifted, others lifted.skwiotsmith
- New a complete bike was $2800, and I came in well under that but with a much nicer setup.skwiotsmith
