I really don't like the aesthetic of his work

I did a photoshop file with 897,000 layers in it in 2008.
Sorry man. I probably should have let everyone know by bragging about it on QBN.

that looks like complete rhino shit.

the compositing is awful, everything looks cut out.
why would anyone strive to make a bloated, 750,000 layer file? when did the number of layers become an indicator of quality?
four years???
- Client "This job looks like shit", "are you crazy? That's half a million layers!", "Oh my god I feel so dumb now. Its great"Orbit

how do you even work on a file that large?
- Work on it by pieces, and then put it all together.kgvs72

looks like a video game screenshot from a few years ago... there is nothing really interesting happening in it?

I think (aside from the subject matter) the problem with his work, is he uses too many different methods to create all the separate objects in his images, it really doesn't help them sit together well at all.
It looks like he tries to airbrush people to the most part and isn't too hot at that but does better jobs at other things like the buildings but even elements and details seem very odd. It's like he might build up something with simple gradients here and there, then move to layer styles on top of that.
Too much of a mish mash. Then, there's the fact that the whole thing is way too busy (imo). Might as well have taken the reference photo and left it at that. If this consists of elements from different reference shots, should have composited together. Dunno what the point would have been but it would have (to my eyes at least) worked nicer.
