For some reason I never think I pull it off. Like its a lazy option but you're right

I'd say don't bother. You'll never be happy with it. Just type the name in a nice typeface. The more idiosyncratic your logo, the more chance there is that potential clients won't get it. Unless it's really good. Do it really good, or don't do it all.

The best advice I ever received was that if you're unsure what to do in any given situation, look to your government, see what they do, scale it down and apply it to yourself.
Go for a tree. Not a detailed tree, but an expressive brush stroke suggestion of a tree.

pretend you're not you, and thatyou (not you) have approached you with a really interesting branding job that you (actually you) have free reign over.
- and keep track of your hours and charge yourself accordingly. and dont take advantage of yourselfbjladams
- Then reject your first three concepts and make yourself combine elements of the next 3.i_monk

If you've never done branding before, start to finish, then start by reading up on successful brands and branding techniques. That's what I'm doing, as it's finally sinking in that a brand is more than the logo, typeface, and swatch palette.

The new style is not to have a logo

the best thing you could do, would be to start by posting your best effort here, then qbn-ers will guide you peacefully towards a perfect end.
