What happens when being enamored by apple gizmos justify corporations greedy actions:
http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2…Unfortunately you wankers/posers are blinded by the hype.

Not surprising really.. this is also why they took a shit on Flash... they knew that eventually Flash would allow people to build native like apps from a browser.. with HTML/Safari they can control that experience and what you can do in order to not endanger their app store model.
The point is, the app store is the main differentiator for Apple... if you do something that endanger that, they'll try to do everything they can to prevent you.

Aye, there was a thread on this yesterday no?
There's a difference between being a fanboy and not giving a shit... what about the lack of Flash on iOS or the recent crippling of SWFAddress in Safari?
- SWF address stopped working in Safari??hotroddy
- partially, but it seems to get worse on every release.kingsteven

Aye, Boz is spot on. all about the apps, and he'll talk whatever BS keeps us developers on side.
- akrok0
haha...next to the story, it all "mircosoft" ads around it. nice plan.

So what? Nobody's forcing anyone to buy Apple products.

Apple is rotten.

Ironically, some of Apple's practices could drive companies away from the App Store...
http://techcrunch.com/2011/03/09…
But there's kind of a conundrum here. Companies don't like Apple taking a cut and imposing restrictions, at the same time I wonder if they would sell nearly as many apps if not for the app store.
- I'm betting that most apps wouldn't sell 10% of what they do through the app store... ala Angry BirdsAmicus

What about the possibility of this being a bug and thanks to this being fixed? no, it has to be an evil conspiracy!
In the meantime, you can bookmark your favorite web app inside Safari instead of creating an icon for it if you need the extra speed, and this will be fixed in a future update more than likely.
- that's like giving Hugo Chavez the benefit of the doubt!hotroddy

And you know what.. if you look at this and say.. what else have they done on purpose? Maybe bootcamp drivers, so your Windows runs like crap on your Mac becasue it crashes?
I know I personally had Windows 7 crash and act weird when I installed it on a Mac Pro.. runnning butter smooth on my i7 machine. The culprit, Bootcamp drivers.
This stuff is not new for Apple..and when questioned they use half truths and convenient excuses..
I'm glad they are getting caught in shit like this.. It will only hurt them in the long run and show to a lot of people why some of us can't stand them.. they are such an evil and disgusting company...I mean, talented and fantastic in products and design but the business policies and models... Yowza.. probably the worst company in the world.

I wouldn't put it above Apple, but I wouldn't put them above any major tech company either. All this talk of Apple being evil is a little silly.

"accused of slowing web apps to benefit app store"
VS
"accused of neglecting the JavaScript engine"same article.

yep, i never get past the point of... if all these problems are deliberate i'd like jobs more, not less.
- VikingKingEleven0
Its funny you get mad at apple for doing this but not at google...
- abettertomorrow0
^
Exactly. There is such a long list of anticompetitive behavior by all these companies.

Google represents the open web.
- So open they removed a feature their browser had (h264) to push their own codecernexbcn
- hehe, wrong 'open'kingsteven
- ie. h.264 isn't open source, Google/ On VP8 is.kingsteven
- http://www.isolani.c…kingsteven
- That's not the point, h264 is ubiquitous and they had it, removing it = dick moveernexbcn
- so h.264, a proprietary technology is fine because it's ubiquitous but Flash isn't?Boz

"wankers/posers blinded by the hype"
That's a wonderful way to start a thread.
- It's how I vent. Nothing personal.hotroddy

It's the essence to their business model. Everyone else is trying to close google out. Why is big media suing them? because they pretty much give away content for free for both video (youtube) or editorial (search engine). Google pretty much is the internet as we know it. Apple and Rupert Murdoch are trying to change it.
- abettertomorrow0
You accuse others of being wankers blinded by the hype and churn out this nonsense hotroddy?
All these companies are motivated by the same thing...desire for profit and to destroy their competitors. And of course there are also many brilliant people who care about creating great technology and design at each of them too:)
Anyway, let me know when Google "open sources" their search engine.
- I'mn saying it's their business model. When they change their business model I'll change my mind.hotroddy
