I'm trying to talk a client out of using GoDaddy to register a domain.... he had network solutions in the past and hated them, he thinks the elephant killer's company is the only logical alternative...
I've used a number in the past, namecheap, register.com, easydns.com, etc...
Does anyone here have great experience with:
1. a registrar with great customer service when somebody messes something up2. a registrar with a more corporate-friendly name, namecheap.com doesn't hold up well in a meeting full of suits(!)

registration is pretty much the same anywhere. Netfirms works and so does dreamhost

Been using icdsoft for years, no probs/interruptions, excellent customer service, and the admin control panel is sick.
You can choose to host in Korea or the Western US.

I was only joking about the elephant thing...
My issue with GoDaddy is their confusing user-interface, when I have client on the phone it's hard to talk them through registering without clicking on somethat that upsells something they may not need and will probably confuse things...

looking for a place to register, not host... and a place that only registers.... I have a few in mind, wanted to know people's opinions...
and one with a business-friendly name, not like tuccows, easydns, namecheap, etc... a certain client freaks out at goofy naming...

All I can say about Network solutions is they poach domains that you search for. Couple years ago I search for a domain via their site and find out it is available. The next day I go back - it's unavailable. Someone bought it, parked it, and wanted to sell it to me for $15,000. No thanks.

Netfirms just got taken over and are migrating to new servers right now. Probably not a good time.
