the example font doesn't have a modulated stroke, so that's pretty easy... just figure out the width and then offset the path by -width/2.

Thx. monospaced : )

Thx. a lot Intelboy. That was exactly what i was looking for : )
Frutiger and Goudy were font designers and i'm not. I am not even that lazy. I am just interested in doing an effect as precise as possible. If you feel that you deserve something more than me because you take the time to do something by hand instead of using the tools that are already available, be my guest.

offset negative to "approximate" a center line and go from there

fucking funny how lazy some people are and they just want a 1 button solution to do everything. Even something as simple as drawing a few lines.
If you're not smart enough to write the solution yourself then you don't deserve the shortcut.

if that doesn't do the trick, hand draw in illy.

you can just imagine adrian frutiger or frederic goudy having this problem...

Sometimes me lad, shortcuts don't exist.

I'm not sure there even is an 'easiest way'.

blend with 1 step?

DUH. I could figure that out. Most of the letters would be easy but f.ex. the S would be a little harder. I am looking for an easy way to make a line excactly in the middle of the letter. You know if there's a way to make f.ex. a bewel effect that would put the a line excactly in the middle of the letters?
