Fellow Qoobs. I gave a little talk about my work last November. (Was nervous!) But I had fun. And the video's now online. So...

I don't get it?
Apart from talking about yourself, what was the point of this talk?
- ..or, is that the point? Genuinely, I don't know - was this a sharing forum, or what?detritus
- Oh, 'talk about my work'.
Sorry, I guess that was indeed the point.detritus - To inspire creative thinking with regard to coding?orrinward
- CAT = Creativity and Technology.
Basically what he is all about.orrinward - To what audience though? An already receptive one? In which case... circlejerk?detritus

Really interesting stuff. I'd not looked at your Histoface thing before because I just assumed from the thumb on your site that you'd just decided to make a typeface, which seemed a bit out of place. I love it!
Where was the Lolcube or QBN logo you'd promised though?

yes.very good.

wow detritus.
stewdio made a cool things and decided (or got invited) to present them. his presentation wasn't cocky or pretentious. you have no reason to be an asshole about it.
stewdio, i've seen the grandaddy video before! nice!

<strong>Conferences are a circle jerk.</strong> Especially in the age of the internet.
i just went to one, only after getting free passes, and watched a disastrous rambling gmunk stumble through tron stuff. Sure, the work was good, but I could have looked through a "making of" book myself in 5 minutes.
The NY Times datavis guy before him just stroked his dick on stage for 45 minutes, occasionally taking a wrist break to bitch about the lack of a modern day hypercard.

Just noticed there is an "easter egg" on this page if you wait long enough.
- That was awesome. Good fun.
acrossthesea - nice!

Perhaps you're right — perhaps I am just being overly mean. It's not like I don't like Stewdio's stuff, even Stewdio himself — I just get aggrieved by certain behaviour types. This place is personal to me, and I guess a somewhat flippant observation represented in high contrast pixel comes across as being some absolute conviction, filled with menace and loathing. Not meant so.
My initial post was sincere — after watching it, I really didn't quite get what the purpose of the video was. He did state quite clearly, mind — but I'm part of the 1.5 second attention span generation, I just click then type. Also don't see why Stewdio couldn't've just bumped the original thread he had on this. Perhaps I tainted that one too (I know, I did). Anyway.
Stewdio's a valuable member of the community, so I apologise for coming across as wholly nego-trolly — I will, readily, admit that I'm often a bit of a wanker. He's a good guy, doing what he loves, and for that I can't but love.
Sorry, Stew.
Consider this another innocent bump.
