If you've ever watched Wallander (the original series, not the stupid Kenneth Branagh remakes) then, well, that's pretty much the tone of the original movies. Just not as good as Wallander.

The original is Swedish!

I wonder would there be so much Apple in US version like it was in Swedish :)

Despite being overhyped, the Swedish movies were good. And I do find it really arrogant that Hollywood just assume they can make a better one. At least wait a few years ffs

Just so everyone doesn't have a fucking (Swedish? Danish? Proverbial?) cow, when I was scanning IMDB I caught this... "Release Date: 27 February 2009 (Denmark) See more ยป" Thus, I assumed the original version, despite its Swedish heritage, was released in Danish. Sorry, my mistake... chill, Winston, chill.
- We Swedes demand blood.
BloooooooodPeter - lol - sure.. you blond fuckers couldn't find your nuts with both hands... X)********
- Funny, you're the one apologizing despite no one asking for it. Did you write it with your vagina? :DPeter
- hahahahaha, zingbogue
- Sweden's part of the Danish Empire though, yeah?toodee

This movie was excellent. Best movie of the year. I recommend going to see it on the assumption you have not seen the other movie. Good balance or suspense and twist to keep you interested.
I have the original, was never in the mood to read subtitles at 2am. I want to go back and read the book now. That girl is interesting to say the least.

Just saw...
Pretty good. Have to say it was the most product sponsored film I've seen in a while. Every 10-20 mins there was a blatant brand placement. I was actually hungry for a fkn happy meal afterwards and I haven't eaten mc'ds in many many years.

ok, so went and watched the new 'american' version last night...
its not shit, buts it not a scratch on the original... i hate the way that films are re-made and things are changed or left out of altered...like why have they made lisbeth so caring? she's as cold as ice in the original trilogy...
not a bad film though.

So i saw the movie last night. i was entertained... but the highlight was that behind my row someone got the "parent of the year" award by bringing a 5 or 6 year old girl to a lovely sunday matinee

^ lmao, I was glad the hacking sequence was bearable and the music rocked the cineplex
a mediocre fincher movie is still great dark moody fun
did anyone feel like they stepped in the wrong theater where the new bond was playing with the opening title visuals and 'daniel craig' pupping up? haha

Saw it other night - was really into it, loved the mood and characters.. plus finchers amazing camera work. I haven't seen the original or read the book, so maybe that helped...
Oh and the title sequence was mind blowing. Misplaced, sure, but one of the best I've ever seen.

So did Lisbet cop it in the khyber pass in the new version?

I liked it.

Great movie. NIN did awesome job with the soundtrack.

I really liked the movie. Thought the original Swedish versions were unbearable, but that might be because it was dubbed in English.
- Yes, this is why I hated the original ' Let the Right One In'. I made the mistake of watching it dubbed.dopepope
- yes dubbed blows chunks. let the right one in needs to be seen native and also gwtdt...prophetone
- the chick in the dubbed 1 was hotter i thought, but i couldnt make it past 30 minutes inmoldero
- I might be an oddball but I thought the chick in the new one was tiiight!fyoucher1
- Not an odd ball, she def was!dopepope
- whats wrong with dubbed films?cruddlebub
- The dubbing usually sucks and diminishes the overall intended cinematic impact, in my opinion.dopepope

I loved it, the originals where more interesting as the lack of a huge budget made the story more important.
You have to like cheesy detective stuff though.
Fincher's aesthetic is really cool, the music was good too, lots of well spent money on great locations and cool art direction.
The movie wasn't shitty at all.

I like the swedish girl when she said 'Jaa!'
