I have been asked to DJ at my friends wedding in Monterosso, in September.
I was thinking about playing some easy listening mixtapes (I won't be manning the decks during the day) for when people are milling around outside.
He wants, and this is what I need more help with, me to play from 11pm 'til the early hours when most of the oldies go home. He stresses that it's not a traditional wedding but wants me to play the "classics".
What are the "classics"? What songs will actually fit into a disco/house/nu-disco set that are romantic and cheesy? What will get people dancing and singing along too and are there any good remixes of this out there?
The only thing I can think of is this:
Your advice is most welcome. Last thread of the day. I promise.

You CANNOT deny the power of that sax solo to bring out the best in people.

I should have been clearer, I was more hoping for good remixes of the songs posted. Like the sweet dreams remix.
He doesn't want a typical wedding DJ, but does want some of the classics. They're too slow standalone.

It's not a traditional wedding, but he wants traditional wedding music? Tell him to make up his mind.

my advice, either they let you play what you normally play.. or just tell them you would rather just be there as a guest.

Hopefully her name is Sherry! Or you know Jerry or Terry or Mary and remix it.

I just got asked the same thing. I play house music in night clubs though, not weddings.
