Looking for good table/desks that I can use for studio.
I like this - http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalo…
Any other ideas, of simple desks that don't look like a space ship?
Thanks!

Maybe check out some antique shops or second hand stores.
You may get lucky and find some teak desk you can resurface.- Ooh. This. Something big and thick,Continuity
- ... fuck, that didn't sound right _at all!_Continuity
- Have you always been a fan of big thick wood mate?aanderton
- I thought this thread was about Desks not dic... oh never mind.jtb26

I found a custom office furniture company local to me to make me a big table top to my dimensions, for $200. Its nearly the same quality (bit heavier duty and more solid) than an IKEA desktop, but I had the chance to get it made much bigger than anything I could find (without buying a dining room table).
I bought 3 of the IKEA Moliden underframe legs ($90), and put together my own custom setup. It worked really well for 2 workstations and looked clean and simple.
- nice room.dorf
- may i ask how you got those nice lines on your wall? technique?sigg
- That orange wall looks like the cover of Grid Systems. http://tinyurl.com/4…
nb - nice man
Raybandana - yeah, like the grid wall.johnny_wobble
- Yep, I'll be copying thisfyoucher1
- one heck of a roomsofakingbanned
- Like that, very nicepillhead
- love it! but, how do you deal with that glare?gabe
- The grid systems cover was the inspiration. All of the posters are by Brockmann.NegativeSpace
- The grid lines I did with thin 1/8" automotive pin striping, and a lot of patience :)NegativeSpace
- Glare isn't too bad, the blinds close out the light really well when I need to. Most of the time I am working in there it ends up being after sunset when I'm home from work anyways!NegativeSpace
- Looks great.Jaline
- nice grid wall ;-)set

- wish they made this largerfyoucher1
- it's 47½" and my wall is a hair under 47". i'm going to take that as a sign that it was meant to be!gabe
- apparently i'm losing it. it's 56" long (and my wall happens to be 57"). not sure where the 47 came from.gabe
- this is super sexy, but it would never work for me as a work desk. need laptop, desktop space, plus writing room.dMullins
- Yeah, exactly. I would need more space.Jaline

bump for NegativeSpace. dude, how did you get that technique on your walls? did you mask it all out using a laser and blue tape or what? i'm loving the grid idea!

thx for the comments.
sigg: I used vinyl pin striping, 1/8" width that I got from the automotive store. Its nice because this was I didn't have to paint in the lines permanently and I could reposition if I needed to adjust for straightness.
