How do I share a folder on a mac mini server, so that when mounted the files have a path like:
/Volumes/Shared_Folder/Sub_Folde...
?Until now sharing a folder on one of the HDDs on a MM gives me the following path:
/Volumes/Hdd_Name/Shared_Folder...More words here: http://forums.macrumors.com/show…
Cheers!

you may need to retype, I don't understand what you're asking.

Maybe I'm not understanding properly, but at home I have my iMac setup with "File Sharing" On. That way anytime I'm on my home network I can login to my desktop via the wireless and transfer files back and forth.

There is a Mac Mini Server with file sharing turned on. I see it on the network and can read/write alright.
/ Volumes / Hdd_Name / Shared_Folder / Sub_Folder / File.name
is what I get as a file path for a file on this server./ Volumes / Shared_Folder / Sub_Folder / File.name
is what I need as a file pathHow?

@ok_not_ok:
Yes, I need partition name hidden. I have two. HD_1 for system, HD_2 for stuff.

Use symbolic links?

alias

The HDD name prevents confusion if the shared folders happen to have the same name. As people have said, use an alias (or symbolic link if you do command line stuff). However if the folder is not mounted then the links will point to nothing which might cause confusion (or in the worst case, seemingly missing files). Why does this matter? What are you trying to achieve?

Found this hint "If you have shared folder on another Mac that you are always connecting to, you can make the connection a lot quicker by using an alias. Just connect to the other Mac as usual, and find the folder you use often. Then Command+Option+Drag it to a location on your desktop or anywhere on your hard drive to make an alias to it. Now the next time you want to go to that location, double-click the alias to sign in to that computer and go right to that folder."

As I've written in a comment to my comment above: I was just pressing too much buttons simultaneously, in Server Admin Tools. Which was a bad idea, to start with.
After clean re-install of the server I have shared the folders using Server Preferences panel and it worked fine for me. Obviously, it is the same logic as with any other sharing – one can share a folder, but for that one must not share the partition.
It works fine now. All of the 490Gb of data are transfered alright and there will be no problems with "seemingly missing files", which is what I was worrying about. I'd hate to relink every file today, really. :)
I know what aliases are, but that was not my case. Actually, I thought that aliases would work, even though the server is now different. They didn't. At info panel (for a file) there are two "addresses" pointing to the file. One is named "Where", the other one – "Server". Apparently, an aliase uses the server address, whereas InDesign (for instance) uses "Where" address. The latter was giving me headache. All fine now.
