Seriously, wtf?
Went go karting on the weekend at theraceway.com, the karts are good, the circuit is good, but you don't have a proper race, basically it's 40 mins of laps trying to do the fastest one.
You don't race against your mates, that's so stupid.

maybe you are doing it wrong... : P

Sounds shit

they said they don't do that here, because they don't want people to get hurt and damage the karts. it was unbelievable!

Perhaps you need to find a better go kart track because that one sounds shite.

if things get unexciting there's always the chance of driving in the wrong direction. that will surely spice things up.

At a gokart track here a few years ago a girl got her long hair caught in the rear axle of the kart she was driving and got scalped.

I remember doing this in Prague once; Health and Safety was so lax we were hammered, driving around with beers (cans) and even getting out the go-carts, jumping the barriers and dragging others out of there carts as they went round.

We have this place about half and hour away:
Massive rickety wooden track spirals right up into the air, and drops down. Awesome fun. Lungfuls of 2-stroke exhaust, carts set up so that you can just about lose it on some parts of the track.- that could be a shit-ton of fun, with better karts and no rules :)fugged
- Totally. It's an awesome track to ride, brilliantly noisy. You just about don't mind the sub-par vehicles.mikotondria3

I really messed up one of my ribs karting in Amsterdam three years ago, it was pretty much a free-for-all. Couldn't breathe properly for a week. Good times.

Slightly off topic but in South Africa, I worked for a big pizza delivery chain, and once or twice a year the boss would give us free booze and let us loose on a go-kart track XD
It was fucking MAYHEM- 18-22 year old guys pissed of their heads, and let's not forget these are guys who drive for a living so lead feet all the way. I overtook 8 dudes but then got flagged for aggressive driving.

I went to Arundel Castle this weekend. Its okay, but most of it was built in the 90's and the bloke dressed as a knight was just a fat local with a plastic sword. It cost £50 to get the whole family in too.
WTF?
Its like there's a leisure industry conspiracy afoot.

sounds like a track day, could be fun depending how impressive the carts were. but yeah, would be way more fun doing offensive/defensive cornering moves on your mates
