Senior Art Director £45k to £55k
I was a mid-senior designer in 2005, 40k starting...
Fuck this list. Fuck London.

Thanks for this..its always great to see a benchmark for these matters.

I think that Cogs list is utter tosh. The problem with the likes of Cogs, Digital Gurus, Major Players, et al is that I'll bet they keep salaries down in order to make their own fees to their clients less unattractive. The recruiter/headhunter market in London is hyper-competitive. I've seen direct employer hire salaries for senior digital ADs in London in the £60k to £65k range, which is much more sensible.

- So these numbers are lower than reality then?ernexbcn
- I would venture to say they yes. Not by much, mind, but lower nonetheless.Continuity

So these are for real? I haven't even been to London but I'm curious.

Part of the problem is that everyone plays fast and loose with job titles in this city. I've seen ads for senior web designer run anywhere from 35K to 55K.

Recently, I saw an advert for a digital design director in London, in-house, £27k. I kid you not.

There are too many job titles.
And depends on the agency you're working for, Art Directors and Designer are the same.- I've actually seen something called 'Associate Art Director.' What the fuck is THAT?!Continuity

- It's insane. And sometimes you better go with the flow, otherwise you'll loose moneychrisRG

Did you read that article that said tube drivers could earn up to 50k!
- I thought it was more like 50k basic.
babaganush - Nah, the papers over hype it sometimes.Chimp
- Fair do's...makes my blood boil a little less...babaganush
- And 30+ days holiday! I read somewhere that it was 45K basic + overtime! And they strike with that deal pah!goldieboy

IIRC the victoria line could actually be completely automatic and is automatic on one day of the weekend. But some cunt sits there pretending to drive it because the unions kicked off. Same reason there are so many manned ticket stalls when 1 would be enough.

^ I think this is the jubilee line.
- Driver's salary article:
http://www.independe…flashbender - I seriously hate the TFL and avoid using there shite service.goldieboy

Haha, you could look at it in two ways:
A strong union will protect your pay and give you a living wage.
Or, 50k thats a bit much for what the job actually initials. If you think thats bad, here in Buenos Aires the metro shuts at 10:30pm and there are no automated ticket machines so they can employ more staff.

What cracks me up about the TFL, is that they've asked 30% of Londoners to stay at home and work during the Olympics because they can't handle the traffic on the underground. They can't handle the traffic as it is! Friggin' useless toss bags. Are they paying businesses to keep there staff out of London? Or is it a case of "tell your staff to stay at home, if not you'll be screwed if you see them before lunchtime anyways"!

love the fact this has turned into a TFL thread.
