Hey guys,
Illustrator keeps saving out files and in the process the gradients are getting lost. The objects which have gradients get filled with 100% black when you re-open the file..
Anyone else had this problem??

What type of file are you saving out?
Are you saying, while working in an .ai file, you save, close the file, re-open to find your former gradients filled with the 100% black?

^ yes precisely.

Are you working on a server, saving to a thumb drive or saving direct to your computer?

are you saving as eps or ai? you should check you're "flattening" options and they are not set to low resolution.

Another problem:
I can't move an object in small distances/increments. It acts like Snap to Grid is on and goes back to it's original point when I release it?- I've been having this issue in PS as well.... fucking annoying. you using a tablet as well?genfourth
- If you're using a tablet, be aware of your wrist hovering over the side buttons/bars. Can mess you up...Remixt
- that's not it, apparently it's an issue when using a mbp trackpad as well
genfourth - I have this problem too. I've tried everything in my small brain, but to no avail. Google just gives me Vector tuts BS.Andrew_D

The snap to grid thing is a known annoyance in CS5 - When it's installed it defaults a bunch fo different palces to 'snap to grid' and 'align to pixel grid'.
Can't remember them all, but one of them is in the transform panel.
