I don't know about germany, but in switzerland bathroom and kitchen are not included in the 2-room /3-room descriptions.
another more important thing about germany, don't forget that taxes are around 30%! check this out before you sign anything.
- same in germany, 2 rooms means: 2 rooms plus kitchen, bathroom, hallway, maybe basement or atticpressplay
- Ah, cheers, mate.Continuity

OK, so I've been doing some preliminary flat-hunting on the interwebz, and I've got a questine:
When looking at a listing for a two-room place, does that include the bathroom and kitchen? I'm really looking for something with one bedroom, living room (maybe with separate kitchen or not, it would depend on how big the place is) and bathroom. Would this be a 3- or 4-room place, according to German listings?
Cheers, lads.

I was just there last month, what an amazing city. The proximity to the Alps is a huge plus too although there is some heavy traffic. I believe it took us a solid 3 hours just to get to one of the closer towns.
I'm totally jealous, I'd love to live there.

Thanks for the feedback, chaps. Would you say 54k €/yr gross is a good wage to decent living in the city?
- If you don‘t have a really nasty cocain habit you should be goodpressplay
- that's 4,500 euros per month.akrok
- sounds good. i have heard. 3k/month. and 2k. in barcelona.akrok
- Yeah, but keep in mind that net would likely be more like 2 600 €/mthContinuity

It is regularly on the UN best places to live listing and quite simply it is fairly expensive but now more than London but the quality of life that you get back in return is fantastic.
I used to live there a few years ago and regularly go back, and intend to move back there in the next few years.
I say take it!

Munich is one of the more expensive towns in Germany (compared to Berlin for example). For a 2 rooms 50 – 60m² flat you maybe pay about 700 – 1200 Euros.
Housing scene is a bit delicate at the moment especially in the low price range, but if you have a well paid job it shouldn‘t be a big deal. Many people in Germany live in shared flats, if you can deal with that you might get a big room in a nice flat and get to know some local people right away plus you have all the living infrastructure (internet, washing machine).
Have a look around here to get an idea about housing prices:
http://www.wg-gesucht.de/
http://www.immonet.de/
http://www.immobilienscout24.deA popular quarter among "young creatives" is Isarvorstadt around Gärtnerplatz.
A 0,5 Augustiner beer is about 3,50, a "Maß" (one litre) is about 7,00. That‘s all you need to know.
Good luck, living quality in Munich is certainly good, and if you need to get away from the city you can go skiing in the Alps which are only about a one hour ride away.
- many YOUNG people live in shared flats, son ..coldarchon
- true, it‘s mostly young students etc. but it‘s also not uncommon among people 30+ nowadayspressplay

Sooooo, QBNers, I've been offered a full time gig in Munich which I'm considering.
Anyone here in the city or lived there? What's the rental housing scene like? What can I expect to pay for something in the 50 to 60m² close to or in the city centre?
What's the cost of living like there, in terms of the basics like food, utilities, et cetera?
