Cygnus you are right for the big part about him...what I like about him is that he is a pass-first superstar, and he has a lot of assists (even when he was in Cleveland) BUT he is annoying sometimes...decision show, parade thing, king lebron stuff

but of course, he can laugh at my bank account, at my basketball skills, my dick size...there's many things that Lebron can say about me, and I think that I should stop hatin him :)

    • oh and I forgot about the guy dunking on him and they banned the tape and shit...loool
    • Someone dunked on Lebron? Big deal. It's not like he's Dikembe, Olajuwon, or Dwight Howard.CanHasQBN

1 win away for LBJ and co

Looks like James will get his ring, but 1 wont be nearly enough for what he promised when those 3 got together.

Westbrook is way too much of a ball hog and thinks he's the best player on the team which he isnt. Takes way too many shots for a PG when he needs to be distributing more for a more balanced offense and get everyone involved and flowing well. Instead he tries to do it all himself and they still lost.

Durant should be putting up 40 in these games, and when he's in a rhythm he's much more clutch down the stretch than Westbrook. Then Westbrook makes 2 critical mistakes at the end. He's trying so hard to be the reason why they win, and they're losing because of it. Durant is a 3x scoring champ and can beat the Heat if the rest of the guys just do their jobs but Westbrook is fucking it up. He doesnt get what it takes to beat the best teams.

    • I feel like Durant has had good looks but hasn't been able to capitalize on them.WrappedInBooks
    • He needs to be in a rhythm. Jordan was like that too.CygnusZero4
    • Westbrook was the best player in the court last night. All this hype about him playing "wrong" comes from people who are casual fans.scrameone

the foul RW committed after the jump ball was total lack of experience. i'm surprised brooks didnt yell out the 5 sec shot clock to his team before the jump.

RW went off in this game though. but so did chalmers and lbj was clutch even with the cramp. as soon as he got back in after being down 94-92, they go on a 7-0 run.

OKC lost because Harden played like shit... you cant hang the loss on Westbrook cause of the one mistake he made, the kid was lights out all night.

If Harden was actually hitting his shots and not blowing open dunks, the series would be tied.

  • CygnusZero40

The best players of all time always need to be in a rhythm to be able to play like they can. Jordan was like that, so is Kobe. When Kobe isnt that involved in the game for whatever reason, he cant seem to make random shots at a high percentage.

Same thing with Harden and Durant. There needs to be more flow to the offense, more balance to get everyone clicking, well Westbrook is denying them that. So when he falls apart at the end of games, other guys are feeling the rhythm and cant make their shots, but he never involved them enough so they were ice cold when they got the ball.

This is the core of what basketball is all about. Feel and rhythm. Teams that win championships like the Spurs, Lakers, Heat all have great balance. OKC didnt have that last night. They had 1 dude taking shots trying to be a hero. It doesnt work that way and it is his fault. He's the PG. It's his job to make things flow and he's fighting against that just so he can look like a stud.

    • *other guys ARENT feeling the rhythmCygnusZero4
    • whatever you get what I mean, He's fighting against the flow of a good balanced offense by not distributing enough.CygnusZero4

True story... If Miami Wins. this city is gonna go fucking nuts and a lot of the latin community will go out to the streets with a pot or a pan and a spoon and bang the said pot or pan the night away

  • Al_dizzle0

Westbrook is a scorer plain an simple. In college he was a 2 guard and now hes playing the 1 spot. Yes he should learn to distribute better, but if he's on fire then you keep riding that horse, that's a core of basketball as well. Brooks encourages his aggressive play, and to be frank if he wasn't that offensive threat OKC wouldn't be in the finals right now. Defences could just throw double teams at Durant all night an effectively shut down that offense.

As for rhythm; that speaks for itself. ANY player performs better when in rhythm not just the greats. The guys who can erupt and go clutch when their team needs them too, despite being in good rhythm, that's the characteristic that separates the greats from the rest.

  • CygnusZero40

Here is the only stat you need to see to know why OKC lost last night, and this is all on Westbrook. As a team in the 4th qtr, they had 0 assists. That tells you that they aren't moving the ball. Other guys are not getting involved enough earlier, cant get in a good offensive flow with everyone gaining confidence, then when they get the ball at the end that have no feel for their shot yet. Great PGs create that motion and rhythm and Westbrook is not playing like a normal PG.

Sure that worked fine during the regular season but the problems with how he plays are now rearing their ugly head against a great team that wont allow 1 guy to beat them. So in those situations you need ball movement, entire offense involved more, which is started by the PG. You cant have the PG taking 32 shots while everyone goes ice cold and expect to beat a team like the Heat.

They need Durant to be the primary scorer, putting up 40 points, not Westbrook. They need 15 out of Westbrook. That's it, get other guys the ball, get them going and scoring, feeling their shots. They need him to distribute and pick and choose his moments. Instead he goes in transition and pulls up the jumper or drives to the hole, while everyone else is standing around. Just not going to work.

All those points he scored are deceptive. They were at the cost of getting others involved. Miami had no problems with letting Westbrook score. You could tell because they never once doubled him. What Miami didnt want was Durant and Harden getting into a flow, and Westbrook played right into their hands.

  • loool0

I can't believe westbrook...the guy goes in quick transition situation 3 on 1 and he finishes by himself...he is really selfish...durant is selfish as well, but it's ok to have one guy like that on the team, preferably not a point guard...they always had that inner fight in them: who is going to be the best in the team...while the whole world sees durant in that role, westbrook just has those moments when he wants to be the best and spoils a lot of it...it is not a problem that he wants to be the best in the team, but then he needs to take the consequences when he fucks up...
okc has two solutions for the next season: either trade westbrook for 3 decent role players, or learn him to enjoy the robin role...two batmen don't work obviously...if wade could learn it, after being the finals mvp and a go to guy for so long, so can westbrook...

How many offensive rebounds did OKC get? Seemed like they sucked defensively compare to previous matches.

Westbrook as amazing, Harden, well, not so much... We don't talk too much about Sefolosha too, but defensively, seems like he didn't perform as well as he could've...

  • brandelec0

so much talk of how okc lost this one. credit due to mia.. they rebounded, kept turnovers down, made the extra pass for role players to come through. like coach spo says they grinded it out. and they survived rw's barrage.

  • CygnusZero40

Wade is the perfect example of what's wrong with Westbrook. Lebron got there and Wade said it was difficult for him to step back, but he did it this year so that Lebron, their best player, could do what he doing now. That wasn't the case last year when they were both trying to be the #1 guy. That's exactly what's going on now with OKC.

Durant is just more efficient and more clutch that Westbrook. If they don't trade him, he's going to have to step back and be the support player the PG is supposed to be and let Durant shine. That's how they can get over this hump. Westbrook has said he wont change the way he plays so it's very possible they will trade him, and if they can get a good PG I think they'll be a stronger team without Westbrook.

  • CygnusZero40

Does anyone think Westbrook would say Durant is the best player on their team? I dont think he would. Wade said that about Lebron this year, stepped back, took his shots when he had them and got a shit load of assists getting it to Lebron, and they're about to get a ring out of it. Very smart move by Wade and it paid off.

Westbrook is just a roadblock for Durant right now. I doubt Durant would admit that but everyone knows it. If Westbrook would involve others more, Durant cant put up that 40, Westbroom get 15-20, Harden would get more shots and get into a groove and this would be a very different series.

I think OKC is actually a stronger team due to their deep bench and if they function properly could have won this series, but Westbrook is fucking it up in every game.

I can't believe Miami is going to win this...
