I don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm 40, and I've been listening to dance music since the mid-80s. Chicago, Detroit, Acidhouse, Hardcore, Trance, Techno, IDM, Tech-house, Deephouse, Minimal, Dubstep, Electro, Breaks; good music is good music - there's gold and there's garbage in all of these genres. Almost everything that has the genetics of house is fine with me.
- for me i suppose i feel sad and barfy that it seems there is a generation of music kids who can't branch outprophetone
- They just don't know history. What kids ever did ? As soon as you realise you're in history, it's moved on. They'll learn.mikotondria3
- mikotondria - i totally agree - particuarly about the genetics of house music.fadein11

I've come to appreciate that 'Skrillex' is quite a good 'performer' to a certain type of input-starved demographic.
It's just that musically, his output is utterly bilgeworthy.

I never thought i'd hate a genre of electronic music as much as I hate dubstep. Really can't see it being an age thing either as I love such a wide variety of stuff. Dare I say it all sounds the same. Has a drop yes but doesn't have an effect on me. Boohoo

The only dubstep I really know is James Blake to be honest. And I like that stuff. It was funny though at Thanksgiving when a younger nephew (maybe 13 or 14) of my fiance's told me he's been recording music and making dubstep. I was kind of like "huh?" because I know this kid doesn't have a clue who James Blake is. So, come to find out, dubstep to him is the American version, which, to me, just sounds like so much other electronic music before it. What am I missing?
- "What am I missing?" Nothing, shitloads of unrelated music is all called "dubstep" it's retardedanimatedgif
- that's about what I expected. thanks.mg33
