I decided to make a blog. Everyone recommend the whole Wordpress route, so I missioned and struggled till eventually I got to the point where I couldn't do any more without forking out a wad of cash.
Not a massive amount, but as I wasn't sure I was gonna use it, I was hesitant. Also, I've played with php and it's a bitch.
So off I went to Tumblr, as a friend of mine has made something pretty cool in it. For fuck sakes, you just click the "edit html" button and to can completely change everything! So much simpler and it's frikkin FREE!!
I just thought I'd share, for those of you who end up making the same decision

Wordpress is moving into full fledged CMS Web world anyway. IMO, Tumblr is becoming what Wordpress used to be, just better, more options.

i don't think tumblr is that much easier than wordpress, unless you really have no clue what you're doing with html.
also, tumblr's entire "we're just going to post stuff we find and make a community out of curating without giving proper bylines or ownership links" thing is fucking bullshit. like it's really flattering to see work on someone else's blog and all, but when you click through and it goes to another tumblr instead of your portfolio, it's pretty goddamn irritating.

I just have one thing I'd like to do that I don't see the functionality for: geolocation. I wanna write about places I stay and add a location to the post. So what then, a friklkin google maps url?
Any ideas on how to do this simply?
