Hello QBN. After unsuccessful Googling, I'm reaching out to all of you for help finding examples of how sponsors have addressed their branding in sponsoring a cycle race. I'm developing everything from signage (along and above the course) to our tent environment and giveaways, but this is an area I have little knowledge of. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I got several sponsors for a VW build. Just found the PR person for the company and emailed them. Researching race cars sponsorship proposals gave me a lot of good info.
- sorry if that doesn't make sense. been drinking since lunch.johnny_wobble

I've been in contact with the PR people, but that's not a ton of help. I was hoping someone here had actually done some design work and could share some inspiration. I also know a lot of QBNers cycle, so maybe they could throw out some ideas. Otherwise, I'm just going to design for the space and environment, as usual.

I was looking at these guys recently for a project, especially clean advertising/reverse graffiti. Might work for a road race?

I think you more or less nailed the staples.
Signage at the start/finish, booths/tent environment, branded apparel/bottles/towels/bags etc. People walking around in branded bike attire. Chalked/painted branding on the ground around the start/finish. Branded bikes on display. If it's a well attended race, maybe a branded blank sign that spectators can write shit on ie encouragement, names etc? Photo booths with branded photos or at least a step and repeat in the BG?

Are you working for one company who is one of the sponsors of the race?
Or you are working for the race organization and need to know how to manage showcasing their sponsors?

I'm working for one of the major sponsors. Aside from just putting a message and some branding on signs and merchandise, I was looking for anything unique and engaging to a cyclist enthusiast. I really like duckseason's idea for branded bikes and even painting/chalking the road.
One idea that crossed my mind was to integrate lenticular signs that are designed to change as the riders pass them. Stuff like that. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep 'em coming.

Water Bottles are like candy to cyclists. It is the one thing that we all need but never really purchase. What about custom gear or chase car design? Is that something you would be involved in? What about branded whistles or some cowbell or something that makes noise as they ride by? The linticular is a good idea, could be interesting.
- water bottles, flags, etc. are a given. I have finish line banners (20ft) to work with two, as well as a sponsor tentmonospaced

It might help to say what the sponsor does, if you're able to... maybe there's a way to tie in what they do with cycling.
