Okay, I've had FIFA 12 (on ps3) since it came out and wanted to ask around to see if I was the only one experiencing this frustration.

Keep in mind I've played FIFA since the 90s versions.

I play against my flatmate predominately and find this version, moreso than any others flawed throughout.

We both agree that it's as if the computer decides who it wants to win before kickoff and does everything possible to make that team win. These include, but are not limited to:

    - Making the goalkeeper of chosen team exceptionally better than the opposition team's goalkeeper.

    - Make the first touches (and movement in general) a lot better than the opposition team's.

    - Through balls more effective.

    - Tackling automated by the computer when the player is deselected. The other team's tackling will be exponentially worse.

    - General "fuck ups" don't happen for chosen team.

    Etc.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way you can limit this? It's hilarious when it's on your side, but so frustrating when it's not.

It just seems that it's a flawed game. Seems to not happen when playing online either.

    Anyway... Rant over.

    Thanks for reading this far.

Play fifa a fair bit with friends and never really noticed to be honest mate. Then again its never been something I've looked out for, if I loose I loose, if I win I win.

I notice it sometimes playing UT against the computer rather than online though. Every goal kick going to their player, their men suddenly jumping to the ball from a few yards away, and so on.

You might do better asking this question on the fifa community forums. You aren't going to get much of a response here.

I wouldn't say it's as bad as you say but me & my brother are convinced EA build in 'FIFA moments'. Shots from distance always tend to be more lethal once the clock passes 88 mins...

Admittedly it adds to the excitement of the game - but everyone I play against agrees that the computer sides with one team. Then when you reset the game, it often chooses the other team to side with. Might be a mental thing but there's just too many instances when the ridiculous happens.

    • Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after youbiusness

I have to say I've experienced the same kind of thing when playing against my brother too. We'll play on Xbox Live for hours at a time and there seem to be trends in which teams are 'better' each time around. Some games I'll thrash him, and then it flips and my team turn into a bunch of idiots and I'll get the beating. We can't quite see what we're doing differently, its just a case of whether your team 'turns up' to play that day... weird.

We're always the same teams, so its not a case of one team being better than another...

As you say its so frustrating when you're on the losing side, but you feel like a god when things go well for you and you can hammer great goals from distance whenever you please :-)

We've resorted to mixing the teams up and putting keepers as strikers and vice versa. I think the mis-match of players abilities levels out any inconsistencies in FIFA itself.
