I've want to do something a little different to for a birthday thing. Was gonna do the Bugsy Malone future cinema at Troxy, but it sold out on the date I need.
Any thoughts? bearing in mind the missus is gonna be there too.

Legoland, top day out, loads of vouchers around at the moment for discounted entry. AND (double bonus) It's near but not actually in London : )

Yes I go quite regularly to a bunch (the missus is a performer/stage manager in a field that overlaps).
I would recommend the Bath House in Liverpool Street but sadly it's closed down...
Proud City/Camden are both good options. Volupte is good as well. Brickhouse on Brick Lane is one of the less-good ones but it's good to combine with a curry in brick Lane or general artsy-fartsy-ness around there.
Madame JoJo's is good but pricy for what it is.
Fantastic acts around to look for:
Kiki Kaboom
British Heart (Male comedic stripper burlesque)
The Bears (Another Boylesque group, but amazing)The thing that will make a good burlesque night is a few very good performers. There are plenty around but there's also a lot of not that exciting ones - Then again though I'm desensitised due to overexposure to it all.
