I can't say I ever consciously listened to Paul's Boutique, but listening now and damn it's great. Check Your Head is my favorite thing of theirs, and I gave Ill Communication a listen last year and found it didn't age well.
I was in high school from 1992 - 1996 and was just massively into them. They were such a great sound in those years, probably the first into to rap that many of us white suburban Texas kids had.
Saw em live a couple of times and just remember totally letting lose at those shows. Seeing them for Ill Communication tour in Dallas was so nuts. We jumped a 12 foot wall to the floor when the lights went down, sprinted through security and got into the fray of the front of the crowd and just lost our minds. That memory rules.
- Pauls boutique is best for me followed closely by check your head and licence to ill._niko

As sad as this is it has rekindled my love for the beasties. I was a huge fan from the first time I heard Fight For your Right to Party in '87 all the way up till about Hello Nasty. All weekend long I've been listening to nothing but the BBoys, watching their DVDs and YouTube clips. I never really gave the 5 boroughs, The Mix Up or Hot Sauce a chance but I'm thinking I need to go back and give those a second listen.
