it's like saying Asbestos is such a awesome material for building houses. you can use it for so many thing. But why do we ban it?
BECAUSE IT GIVES PEOPLE CANCER!!!
cons out weight pros bro!- There is no self defense argument in asbestos. Its not a right of defense. stand back I am going to use my asbestos panel.yurimon
- cons out weight pros Bro. compare to any country that has a ban on guns will alway have lower fatal crime rate.pango
- Yurimon, the metaphors and analogies fly right above your head every time.CanHasQBN
- It's not about whether Asbestos defends lives. It's a cost-benefit ratio.CanHasQBN
- Does the cost of a larger number of gun deaths justify the smaller number of saved lives? Absolutely not.CanHasQBN
- yurimon0
Every gun incident is an isolated incident.
Well if someone defends themselves from a crime that can potentially be fatal to the victim then its does save lives.
You dont have to have a gun. but Right to Self defense is nice to have. Tell that to someone who prevented a crime or being a victim. easy to sit in living and judge.
Ideally we would live in a world of peace and cooperation without oppression. Its ideal but not real at this time.
So thus 2nd amendment.

2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the USA
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
- Exactly, right to bare arms shall not be infringed.yurimon
- This ridiculous amendment was only relevant in 1791. Your militias pose ZERO threat to the US military, if the militaryCanHasQBN
- ever came under control of a tyrannical government.CanHasQBN
- You and your buddies are gonna fight the US military with your pistols? Get a grip.CanHasQBN
- And its still rings true today.
God Bless America.yurimon - "A man who won't die for something is not fit to live."
Martin Luther King, Jr.yurimon - and yet you rather keep your gun and have 9 others dead. Martin Luther King, Jr is disappointed.pango
- Listen the fact the US was spared invasion by japanese forces was a strategic choice japan made because of the 2nd amendment. fact.yurimon
- Main land invasion was scrapped because Americans were packin to much heat.yurimon
- fact? where is your source? or their main priority was asia?pango
- admit it. you just want to play with guns and you don't care if some unknown people die as an side effect.pango

Also, take your idiotic logic and tasteless comments elsewhere, yurimon. This is the Shooting of the Day thread, not a thread about disrespecting victims.
- CanHasQBN0
No. No it does not save lives when the lives taken by guns outnumbers the lives saved by guns. It's simple math. You are in the negative.
1 saved life - 10 lives taken = -9 lives
When you are in the negative, you can no longer say that "guns save lives". How you cannot understand this extremely basic concept is mind-boggling.

You dont know the real stats because not every preventive measure leads to violence or reported. Also preventive measures could be someone who diverted from crime from simple fact that someone can be armed in their home or a citizen can be armed. it not a that simple to pinhole stats.
- where do you get the data to back up any of that? your gun-loving heart?BrokenHD
- CanHasQBN0
A guy breaks into someones home... the homeowner scares him off with a gun... and they don't report it to the police? Who the hell does that? If there are any people at all who refuse to report an attack or a home invasion, the amount is completely marginal.
Anyway, I'm mostly calling for increased regulation on guns, as I know a outright ban on guns in the U.S. will never happen. So how can you justify things like 100 round magazines?
- Magazines like that are illegal in the US.CygnusZero4
- Are you sure? http://www.dailykos.…CanHasQBN
- http://www.rawstory.…CanHasQBN
- here you go, $79 http://www.surefire.…CanHasQBN
- "Due to tremendous demand, we are heavily backordered on our 100-round magazines. "CanHasQBN
- 179.00*CanHasQBN
- damn thats cheap!pango
- You can buy them all you want on the internet. Get caught with one and you are in trouble.CygnusZero4
- FYi you can buy cocaine on the internet. Guess that makes it legal?CygnusZero4
- I'm not ONLY calling for this stuff to be illegal. I want it to be illegal and the specific law to be enforced.CanHasQBN

"This is the Shooting of the Day thread, not a thread about disrespecting victims"
Oh the irony.

Since this is about the tenth time you've brought it up, a clarification on 100-round magazines: They are toys. Unreliable pieces of junk. We're fortunate that the asshole that shot up that theater didn't know this. Had he relied on standard magazines, his rifle likely wouldn't have jammed.
Also, "100% survival rate for home invasions"? By its very definition, home invasions are violent attacks against the occupiers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hom…- Actually, had he relied on a standard magazine, he would have only gotten 10 shots off.CanHasQBN
- But obviously he got MANY more shots off by using the 100 round mag.CanHasQBN
- Whether they are unreliable or not doesn't matter. What's your excuse when they ARE reliable?CanHasQBN
- I didn't write the 100% survival rate thing btw, so I can't give you an answer on what the writer meant.CanHasQBN
- You can carry more than one magazine. Second comment wasn't addressing one of your statements.melq
- I'm not a gun nut, btw (though compared to the average qbner it would seem otherwise); I'm just trying to address factual errors. A lot of misinformation in these gun threads.melq
- ...factual errors. There is a lot of misinformation in these gun threads.melq
- To answer your question, I could give a damn about 100-round mags. If it makes you sleep better at night, ban them.melq
- ...them.melq
- Yeah, he could carry more than one magazine, but the opportunity comes to stop the shooter when he's CHANGING his magazineCanHasQBN
- a magazine. That's the whole point of this... the interruption give people a chance to escape and/or tackle the shooter.CanHasQBN
- shooter.CanHasQBN
- This will make me sound like a jerk, but, for a guy that posts adamantly about guns, you seem to know very little on the subject.melq
- ...subject. In this specific instance, changing a magazine takes about half a second. Anyway, I'm done. G'night.melq
- It probably takes a second under controlled conditions. Not in the dark, with countless distractions, and jumpy nerves.CanHasQBN
- Besides, all you really need is about 1-2 seconds to jump on a guy.CanHasQBN
- CanHasQBN0
yuri, for every link you post, I can post a hundred.
You just don't get it. It's really pathetic.
