I reckon it looks great, and it's a good feeling to nerd out on new shit like this - industrial design included. Much better than to complain, whinge and hate like the rest of the internet do. I wonder if those people get equally emotional when choosing between toasters in the homewares section of the store.

I'm out of plan so wanted to wait until the iPhone 5 came out. Took a look and it's nice...but I must admit I loved the screen size of the Galaxy SIII...not a huge fan of the android OS but might be just because I haven't used it.
One thing that really surprised me was seeing a phone running Windows Phone 8...looked absolutely great I must admit.
Will the Samsung run Windows Phone on it?

I still have the 3G. Its slow as fuck. The only thing its missing is the dial up sound from back in the day.

- Processor is better
- Screen is bigger but might need two hands to use properly now
- Camera is the same
- Back has less glass on it
- Black metal parts might only be painted so might show wear and tear worse
- You'll need a dongle if you have an expensive speaker dock- Camera is a little bit better, colors are more deep now and ehanced.benfal99
- debatable till you read the specs and realise it's the sameanimatedgif
- But if it makes you feel better about dropping $600 we can say it's "deeper" or "richer"animatedgif

Looking at the comparisons between them there really isn't a lot to differentiate the 5 from the 4S. I am getting the 5 to upgrade from the 4 which I think is a worthy enough upgrade. If I had the 4S, I would probably think twice.

I guess the biggest difference would be network speed (true 4G)
- I can't even use up the 200MB plan I'm on, so there's no point in my opinionmonospaced
- 200mb per month? damn, i use about 2+ gigs a month. mostly gets sucked up in netflix/streaming music apps.lvl_13

4G in my opinion is the only considerable advantage.
In Britain though this will probably only be useful / used in a small percentage of the country so in a couple of years perhaps the iphone 5 would be more of an option as it can make better use of a potentially wider 4G network.

How come your guys phones are so slow?... I'm on a 3GS and it is still as fast as it was when I got it.

They says iPhone 5 is a beast for games, its super powerful and could be one of the best game machine in all the smartphone yet.
Screen is larger too, will be cool for the upcoming games.
The iPhone5 is more powerful than the best PowerBook of 2005. The best powerbook of 2005 benched 1,000 and the iPhone5 1,600 .... (check Gizmodo, they talked about that yesterday)
- 7 year old computer. Absolute current phone. Android phones are faster.chossy
- Why on earth would someone buy a phone based on how powerful it is for gaming?404NotFound

I dont understand people complaing about the iPhone. You seems to want a revolution each time they show a new iPhone. Forget it, they are just updating a super good machine every year. The iPhone is an amazing piece of technology and its getting better and better on every version of it. End of the story. You dont expect a revolution when they bring a new MacPro, you just want better technical specs. Think the same with the iPhone.
- Because the media hoopla sets the expectations too high.404NotFound

Just go read the review by TechCrunch and shut up:
"With iPhone 5, Apple Has Chiseled The Smartphone To Near Perfection"

Something people forget to mention is the new processor that the Iphone 5 has, and also has yet to be tested in real life which is claiming (not by apple) to me more powerful than powerbooks, which is a lot to say. Maybe it may not be a huge upgrade from the 4s or 4, but to people who are still using the 3g or 3gs, this will be HUGE!
This probably means a lot of heat issues will be on the news, and probably why the back isn't made of glass but of metal. Also the advantage of the LTE network, which if you live in an LTE network, will be massive. But people will just focus on the exterior and think oh its just bigger. Well if it ain't broke, dont fix it. IF apple can sell Millions and millions of phones in a short span, they have a great product, they don't need to massively change every year. Just updating the internals is enough.

The article in techcrunch is stomach churning.
Here are a couple of quotes.
"I find the all-black look (including the sides and corners) to be much more appealing. “Does it come in black?,” Bruce Wayne asks Lucius Fox in Batman Begins. Yes, yes it does. This is without question the phone Batman would use."
"If you have an iPhone 4 or, heaven forbid, an iPhone 3GS, get the iPhone 5 as soon as you can."
