$2,100 isn't that much if it's for your business.
If it's for printing little 3D type experiments and late-night Cinema 4D goof sessions just for fun then...just spend it on drugs mate, it'll be more fun

Like all new technology, it will be used to create facsimiles of penises.

If it means anything to you, Georges, I'm waiting on for a wee while yet — the consumer landscape's getting more interesting now that there's significantly more competition out there.
At the very least, it's time to consider one of the multi-colour or quickened variants of the MakerBot thing.
- Although tbf, the resolution on that new Makerbot looks good..detritus

@ detritus,
I've been waiting for quite sometimes, but the price is still too high for my budget,
my friends got the old model and I fuckn love it even though the 3d print is quite tick.
2013 here I come,
Here's a project I worked on 2 years ago, a house printer http://d-shape.com/

Out of interest, what would you guys use this for? As in...graphic applications? Or are we talking products?

@ pig,
I'm just sick of not being able to see what I have in my head miraculously appear in front of me
I believe detritus owns a laser cutting gig

As Georges says, I do laser cutting, through which I do a lot of components for architecure and artist models and such, so a 3d printer of at least moderate quality would come in pretty handy.
Also — I've wanted a 3d printer for years.. the laser-cutting route is supposed to, in the long run at least, get me enough cash to buy a proper 3D printer someday :)
